Chapter 37: Unexpected News

•Annie's Pov•
after watching friends for a while i started to get ready for my date with joey.
i went through my closet like 3 times before settling on an outfit.
i chose a floral skater dress.

i lay the outfit on my bed and jump into the shower. i scrub my body and wash my hair, once i rinse my hair out, i shave.
i turn the water off and dry myself.
i get dressed and blow dry my hair. i then brush my hair and put it in a pony tail. i pull two strands of hair out at the front. i quickly brush my teeth and walk back into my bedroom.
i put on white sandals and grab my purse. i put some extra money, gum and my keys into my purse. i grab my phone and go downstairs. i sit on the couch, checking social media while i wait for joey to pick me up. i hear a knock at the door and see hayden and noah? wait why is he with noah?
"hayden, what is it this time? i have to leave for my date with joey in a few minutes"
"i'm just dropping my little brother here to see hayley" he says with a smirk.
"of course you are" i say with a fake smile.
"hayley! come here" i shout upstairs.
"coming!" she runs down the stairs.
"oh, hey noah. come to my room" she holds his hand and runs upstairs.
"well, thanks for bringing noah. goodbye" i start to close the door, hayden puts his arm in the gap.
i sighed, not wanting to argue.
"hayden, you have five minutes. talk"
"thank you, anns. trust me don't date joey, when you officially become an item he's bad news. he acts sweet until you're his"
"stop lying to me, i know you're only saying this so i cancel my date with joey"
"annie, baby i promise you i'm not lying. why would i lie? i know you won't take me back" he said softly.
"well that's true but how do i know i can trust you?"
"i'll do anything for you to trust me. you name it and i'll do it"
i whispered into his ear what i want him to do.
"easy. make sure to record it tomorrow" he smirks.
"bye, my lil baby" he whispers and kisses my forehead.
"bye hayden" i smile and blush as i close the door.
why did i never know noah was related to hayden before? why didn't hayley tell me? did hayley know? did noah know i'm hayden's ex girlfriend?
i shake it off as there's another knock at the door.
"hey, joey" i smile.
"hey, julianna. ready to go?"
"yeah, one sec. i just need to tell hayley i'm leaving"
i walk to the stairs and shout from the bottom.
"hayley, i'm leaving now. mom should be home soon. bye!"
"bye annie! have fun with joey"
"thanks, you too. bye noah!" i shout as i close and lock the front door.
joey opens the passenger door for me and closes it.
i buckle myself in as joey drives off.
"where are we doing?" i excitedly ask.
"you'll see" he says with a playful smirk.
oh my, that smirk is adorable.
i'm sure hayden's lying, but i'm not 100% sure about joey now.
we pull up to this beautiful and expensive restaurant.
"aw joey, this is such an expensive restaurant"
"i'm glad you like it" he chuckles.
i smile and hurry out of the car.
i hear a buzz in my pocket.
i text ruby and say goodbye. i'm so thankful for her.

"who was that?" joey asked curiously.
"just ruby, she wanted to hang" i say, not giving him anything else.
he nodded "okay"
we went inside and got into a booth.
a waitress came over to us.
"hello! what can i get you?" she sweetly asked.
"hi, i would like a lemonade and the pasta sounds lovely" i hand her my menu as she writes my order down.
"make that two, thanks" joey smiles.
she nods and leaves.
joey holds my hand on the table and rubs his thumb over my knuckle.
i look around at all the people in the restaurant, you need to be pretty wealthy to afford it here.
the waitress comes back with our food and drinks.
"thank you" i sweetly say.
she nods and leaves.
joey and i eat in silence, it was a peaceful silence. we finished eating and talked for a while.
"do you want dessert?" waitress asked.
i looked at joey and he nodded.
"i'd love dessert. can i please have an ice cream sundae?"
she nodded "anything for you, sir?" she asked joey.
"i'm alright, thanks. just the sundae for my date"
she nods and leaves, a few minutes later she comes back with my sundae.
i start to eat my sundae as joey has one mouthful.
i finish and joey asks for the bill.
he pays the bill and i leave a tip as joey walked off.
we walked outside and joey picked up a rose from the garden and handed it to me.
"julianna, i'd like to ask you a question.
would you be my girlfriend? i promise to take care of you and always be there for you"
i look at him.
"aw, joey it's really sweet. do you mind if i think about it?"
he nodded "of course, take your time"
"thank you"
we got into the car and joey drove me home.
he walked me to the front door and kissed my cheek.
"bye, jules"
"bye, joey" i wave and go inside.
i go to my room and wipe my makeup off.
i then change out of my outfit into my pyjamas.
i brush my teeth and hop into bed and text hayden.

i lay down thinking for a while, i do miss hayden. i close my eyes and drift off to sleep.
