(MAPLELEAF'S POV)
We slowly stalked back to my den trying not to look suspicious. Blackpetal even pretended to limp.
"So?" She snapped as we entered my den, "Are you betraying Desertclan?"
"No! I would never!" I hissed, "Wolfstripe killed Dewpool!!!"
Blackpetal backed away at the sorrow in my voice.
"I-I'm sorry... I-I didn't..." Blackpetal tried to apologise, her voice cracking.
"Ugh... I'm sorry I snapped at you... I'm just... sad" I mewed apologetically looking at her sad guilty face.
"It's... okay" Blackpetal purred pressing her pelt up against mine so that they were brushing.
I felt tears running down my face again. No not in front of Blackpetal!! I thought.
Me and Blackpetal lay there for sometime. Blackpetal's presence was... comforting though.
"Blackpetal!!" I heard Thornstar mew later on.
"Coming!!" Blackpetal meowed back.
"Go ahead... you can go... but thank you Blackpetal..." I meowed sleepily.
"It's okay... Night Mapleleaf" Blackpetal purred, sounding like a mother to her new born kits.
"Ni....ght..." I mewed falling asleep in the empty hollowed out log.
