Sticking With Family (Harry Potter)

Cata gasped, stumbling towards Harry who was also horrified, as they saw their Godfather, Sirius Black, enter the void after being struck by the killing curse.

"NO!" they yelled, trying to run towards the void when Cata felt herself getting held back by her cousin, who wrapped her arms around the older Potter twin while Harry was being held back by Remus Lupin.

Carolina tried to hold Cata back as she sobbed and screamed with her twin, looking towards Remus with tears in her eyes. She also loved Sirius, even though it took a while for them to warm up to each other since she was a Dursley, and Sirius hated the Dursleys with a passion. He was the only one who knew what it was like to be outcasted by their family solely for being different. And she was also hurting but, she knew she couldn't even COMPARE to the pain her cousins were feeling. This was their GODFATHER for crying out loud!

Cata wanted to yank out her cousin's grip, and run towards the void to rescue her and her twin's beloved godfather, the one part of their family other than their cousin to show them love. She and Harry tried to fight against Lupin and Carolina's grip, but they held onto them tightly.

But, somehow, they both managed to realize that Sirius was never coming back and that made them even more depressed than they were already were when the school year started. They both screamed out one final cry, Cata now letting Carolina hold her back, causing the 5 month older cousin to now make the holding back turn into a hug from behind, rocking her side by side, burying her head against her back, letting the tears run down.

Carolina noticed Bellatrix Lestrange smirking at them as she walked away backwards. The Potter twins noticed and their sadness was replaced with pure anger.

Carolina released her grip from Cata as she ran with her brother towards Bellatrix, finally letting her collapse on her knees, causing Remus to walk towards her, his eyes showing worry.

She had experienced the worst mental pain ever; her being the up and personal bait for the twins to hand up the prophecy.

"Hand up the prophecy and I'll let her go." Lucius smirked, his wand at Carolina's head, making her whimper.

"How could you?! To your own son and daughter?!" Cata shrieked, the prophecy in her hands.

"Draco and Clodagh are simply going through a phase. She's not going to remain friends with a pathetic mudblood and he's not going to be wrapped up around her either if I can help it!" Lucius stated coldly, causing tears to run down Carolina's cheeks, making her chuckle darkly, her hair turning a mixture of black and blue.

"Then I guess you don't know your children at all." She stated boldly, teeth clenching as Lucius tightened his grip on her hair.

"Carrie!" Harry yelped, his wand shaking.

"DON'T.YOU.DARE.GIVE.IT.TO.HIM." she hissed, tears running down her cheeks.

Cata looked to her brother, her eyes glistening.

"Give it to him Cata." He whispered, reluctantly.

Cata drew her wand, pointing it at him as she handed the prophecy to him, grabbing Carolina the second he took it, pushing her behind her and Harry, wands still drawn.

Carolina felt horrible that SHE had to be the reason for them to give up the prophecy.

Well, she and the couple of students from Dumbledore's Army that came as well.

However, she was the ULTIMATE bait.

Carolina was still traumatized by what happened next, after the Order of Phoenix came to save the day.

She was shooting spells at Lucius, from behind a rock, gulping as each spell almost hit her.

"Pathetic, and I thought I taught my children better to hang around a mudblood."

She gritted her teeth, her anger at him belittling the Malfoy twins that she adored to death grew.

"Carolina!"

She turned to see Remus knock out Lucius, causing her to widen her eyes as he went towards her.

"Are you all right?"

She remained silent, looking down.

"He was belittling the Malfoy twins, his own children." She hissed, wiping her nose from the blood it was running down.

"Why should you care about what a death eater-"

"BECAUSE I LOVE THEM LUPIN!"

She sighed, calming down.

"I love Clodagh like she's my own sister and Draco...he's my boyfriend. My Dragon."

"Carolina, get up. We need to help your cousins before it's too late for both of them."

Carolina nodded, limping as she walked down, her ankle burning in pain but, she couldn't feel it.

It was like she went numb.

She was soon being helped by Hermione and Luna, her two best girl-friends next to Clodagh.

They gasped when they saw Harry and Cata on the floor, writhing in pain, them clutching onto each other's hands tightly.

Carolina suddenly rushed forward, falling onto the floor, yelping from the pain but, she dragged herself to the twins, ignoring the things they said.

'It's Lord Voldemort that's controlling them, it's not them.'

She held onto their joined hands, her eyes and hair turning black, her sign of complete darkness.

But somehow, it made the twins suffer less, knowing that the last bit of their accepting family will stick with them through hell and back...

No matter what.
