"What are you doing here? You scared me half to fucking death." Clarke said, grabbing her chest and trying to calm herself. "How did you even get in here?"

Emory looked disappointed. "I used the key you gave me. Why haven't you answered any of my calls or texts Clarke. I've been worried sick about you."

"Emory that key is for emergencies only and my phone died not long after we got the studio. I was just so wrapped up in everything, I didn't think to charge it. I'm sorry." Emory rolled her eyes and was clearly upset, leaving Clarke with a guilty feeling in the pit of her stomach. "How are you feeling by the way?" Clarke asked changing the subject.

"Better now that you're back." She said and smile. "I was going to see if you wanted to have a sleep over. You can tell me all about your night with Janet Jackson!" She said and tugged at Clarke's arm, pulling her closer.

"A-Actually, She's downstairs."

"Downstairs?"

"A friend of hers invited her out and she asked me to go. I think she likes me Em. I kind of want to see where this is going... you know?" Clarke looked hopeful.

Emory started to laugh. "Clarke, wake up! That woman is just looking for a good time. Someone to excite her for the night. Do you think she actually likes you?"

Clarke felt hurt. She didn't understand why Emory felt the need to make fun of her. "What are you trying to say? That she could never really be interested in someone like me?" Clarke brushed past Emory and entered her bedroom.

"Clarke," Emory said following close behind, "I didn't mean it like that. I just meant..."

"Yeah I got what you meant." Clarke interrupted. "I hear you loud and clear. You think I'm not good enough. Well you're wrong." Clarke quickly changed her clothes and sat down on the bed to slip into her shoes.

Emory day down next to her and out her hand on Clarke's back.

"I really didn't mean to upset you Clarke. I'm sorry. Will you please stay here with me tonight? Let me make it up to you." She said with a slight smile.

Clarke stood to her feet and walked over to the mirror. She pulled out her phone and snapped a picture.

She looked back at Emory. "I can't tonight. I have plans." She sprayed her favorite cologne a couple of times and headed for the front door.

"Clarke! C'mon babe, I said I was sorry." Emory, was desperate at this point. She really didn't want Clarke to leave. "Don't be like this... stay."

Without even looking her way, Clarke opened the door. "Make sure to lock my place up when you leave please." She said and closed the door behind her.

Clarke made her way back down to the car where she opened the door to a smiling Janet.

"Hey." Clarke said as she hopped in. She was visibly upset and her face a bit flushed.

"Is everything okay?" Janet asked.

"Fine. Everything is fine. I can't wait to eat though, I'm starving." She forced a smile and glanced out the window, looking back up towards her door. Emory still hadn't come out yet.

She was starting to act really strange. Emory had never just let herself into her place like that before. In fact, Clarke had forgotten she'd even given her a key until now. There had never been a reason for her to use it.

Janet touched Clarke's hand, bringing her out of her thoughts.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Clarke smiled and nodded. Although she wasn't convinced, Janet didn't push.

It wasn't long before they pulled up to the restaurant where Janet's friend was standing patiently out front, waiting for her to arrive. She rolled the window down her and waved.

"Gil!!! There is someone I want you to meet!"
