"Can you step out here and let me talk you for a moment please?" He asked. Clarke looked back towards her room, stepped out into the hallway and closed the door.

"What is it Gil?" Clarke visibly irritated at his presence.

"I want to know why you're so upset with me?" He said. "Because I feel like ever since this shit happened between you and Janet, you've been throwing me shade."

"Did you know she went to him because, I thought we were friends." She said defensively folding her arms across her chest.

"Hear this Daddy, I love you with my whole heart and I think you're wonderful but hashtag Team Janet fa life honey," He said making his stance on things very clear. "But to answer your question, no, of course I didn't know. I was just as shocked you were and I'm so sorry that she lied to you."

Clarke leaned against the wall and sighed deeply. Her face was flushed as tears filled her eyes. "I never thought it was possible for her to make me feel the way I do right now man. She broke my heart." Gil reached over and wiped her eyes with his sleeve.

"We all make mistakes babe, but avoiding her is not helping anything." He said. "You need to talk her." He said.

The door opened and Brylee peeked her head out. She stood halfway out the room, enough for Gil to notice that she wearing Clarke's custom Janet t-shirt that Emory made for her.

"May we help you?" Gil said snapping his head in her direction.

"Gil, please." Clarke said as wiped her face with her sleeve, then turned to Brylee. "Everything is cool Bry. Please go back inside, I'll be in there in just a sec." Gil glared at Clarke as the door closed. "What?" Clarke asked.

"Are you really going let this bitch ruin what you have with Janet? Think of you and Janet have together."

"Did she think of me when she was out on her billionaire husband's boat?" She snapped. "I found out from TV Gil, do you even know how that feels?" Tears continued. "Do you think Janet thought of me once?"

"Actually, you were all I could think about."
Janet said walking up behind them. Clarke turned to face her. Janet couldn't look her in the eyes. "I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd attempt to you my letter again." She said holding the folded piece of paper in her hands.

"Again?" Clarke asked confused. "I have been here all night."

"I came here early today, right after the show but Brylee said that you had not made it in yet." She said and handed the letter to her. "I know that you're upset with me and you have every right to be, but just please read it." She held her hand out to Gil. "Will you walk me back to my room please?"

Gil leaned over and kissed Clarke's cheek. "I love you." He said.

"Love you too Gil."

Clarke watched as they walked away. Janet glanced back in her direction just before they disappeared into the elevator. Clarke turned towards the door, took a deep breath and walked inside. Brylee was patiently waiting for her. She stood as soon as Clarke entered the room.

"Is everything okay?" She asked as she approached Clarke. She went to touch her face and Clarke pulled back.

"Did you tell Janet I wasn't here earlier?" She asked. The energy Brylee felt from her was completely different now.

Brylee took a step back. "Yes but only because you seem like you didn't want to be bothered. I did it to give you space." She explained.

"I appreciate that but next time can you run that by me first please." She said. Brylee nodded.

"Of course. I'm sorry for overstepping." Brylee stepped closer to her, touching her face. "Are you sure, you're okay?" Clarke took her hand and returned it to her side.

"I'm good. It's just been a long day. I'm exhausted and just want to go back to bed." Clarke said as looked at the letter in her hand.

Brylee did hide her disappointment very well. She wanted to finish what they started.

"Are you sure I can't convince you to stay in my bed tonight?" She gripped Clarke's hand and pulled her closer and wrapped her arms around Clarke's neck. Clarke took her by the wrists and politely returned her arms to her sides.

"I can't do this Brylee. I love Janet and I need to figure that out before I go and complicate things anymore than I already have. I'm sorry."

Brylee smiled. "I know you love her." She kissed Clarkes lips one more time. "Let me know if you ever change your mind." She said, walked to her room and closed the door.

Clarke closed herself in her room and took a seat on the bed. She opened the letter slowly.

Clarke,

First I need to apologize. I should have come to you with the truth about my feelings. The truth is, I was afraid. You started talking about the future and it made me realize that I hadn't even thought that far ahead. I almost made a mistake with Wissam but I couldn't go through with it because he is just not you. I gained only one thing from that boat ride and it was clarity. He was able to see that for himself. He was able to see that my heart belongs to you Clarke. I want to be yours and I don't care if the world knows it. My life is not complete without you. I hope that you can forgive me and trust that I will never lie to you again... You once told me that your heart beats for me... That is simply not true. Our hearts are singing the same exact song Clarke. Please give me another chance and promise to prove that to you.

-Janet

Clarke let her head fall into her hand as she began sobbed. It was the first time she'd allowed herself to really feel anything in the past couple of days. She lay awake, staring at the ceiling until her alarm went off. It was time to get up, shower and get ready for mic check.

She was exhausted and the car ride to venue with Brylee was a very awkward and quiet trip. Clarke looked down at the folded letter in her hands, Brylee noticed it as well. As they pulled up, Clarke caught a glimpse of Janet just as she had walked in.

"J!" She yelled as loud as she could but it was no use, Janet was gone. Clarke got out of the car quickly walked. The stadium was huge and when she looked around, Janet was nowhere in sight.

Brylee approached her from behind. "I'm sure she is around her somewhere but in the mean time..." She said. "Mic check?"

"Yeah." Clarke nodded and followed her to the stage.
