Clarke had finally made it home. She checked her phone realizing she'd received a text from Janet. She smiled. Seeing Janet is exactly what she needed right now.

She stretched out in her bed and begin tossing a tennis ball up in the air. Her mind wandered to Brylee. She thought about the moment they'd shared in the kitchen. She didn't really understand what it meant but she knew for sure that it could never happen again.

Clarke opened her eyes and blinked a few times. She had fallen asleep. She sat up and looked over at the clock. She been asleep over an hour. It was already 8:30. She picked up her phone to a very long text message from Gil.

Hey Daddy, Dunk wanted me to tell you that she is sorry and won't be able to make it to you tonight. Some business has come up and we don't know for sure how long it will take. She wanted you to know that she loves you and that she will call you as soon as she can.

He continued...

P.S. Hang in there with her Clarke. I know things are busy right and it's hard not being able to be see her like you want but a big part of being in her life means understanding that she is an artist. This is her life babe. I love you and I can't wait to see your beautiful face.

Clarke sat up on the side of the bed. She picked up Janet's book that rested in her night stand and looked at it for moment and tossed it on the bed behind her then picked up her phone and to make a call.

"Brylee? Hey, I was just wondering, are you and your friends still going out? Is there room for one more? Clarke hung up and started getting ready.

With in 30 minutes, Brylee was at her front door.

"It's open!" Clarke yelled from upstairs. She checked herself in the mirror again and snapped a picture.

She hated her hair. She shook her head and applied more lipgloss then fussed with her hair a bit more. "What are you're nervous about? Calm yourself Brylee." She said to herself quietly.

Clarke came jogging down the stairs. Brylee looked up and smiled. "Hey. Wow you look hot. I love the outfit."

"Thank you." Clarke said smiling. "You dont look so bad yourself. Where are your friends?" She asked.

"They are going to meet us there. I'm really excited about you coming out with us. I wanna see what you can do on the dance floor."  Brylee joked before noticing the photo hanging on the wall. "Is this your mom?" She asked.

Clarke looked over at the photograph and smiled. "Yeah that's her."

"She is beautiful. I see where you get it." Brylee smiled back at Clarke. They were quiet for a moment.

"So are we ready to go then?" Clarke asked.

"Yeah let's hit it."

Clarke grabbed her keys and opened the door. Janet stood on the other side, holding a single rose and smiling.

Clarke's face lit up. "Baby!" She squealed and scooped Janet up into her arms, swinging her around. Janet laughed, trying to hang on to the rose. "I thought you had business to take care of."

"You're more important. I made them reschedule." Janet looked over at Brylee. Clarke had forgotten she was even in the room. "Hi Brylee." Janet said and forced a smile. "You guys getting ready to go somewhere?"

"We were actually just about to head to a club and meet some friends of mine." Brylee responded. Clarke looked over at her. "I'm so sorry Bry, can we rain check?"

It was Brylee's turn to force a smile. "Sure, of course." Brylee grabbed her jacket as Clarke walked her to the door. "Are we still on for dinner tomorrow night?"

"Definitely, so bring your appetite." Clarke said and smiled. Janet cut her eyes over at Brylee and didn't try to hide it.

"Goodnight hot shot." She said and then looked over at Janet and smiled. "Night boss."

Janet smiled. "Have fun at the club with your friends."

Just as Clarke closed the door, Janet sat the rose down and wrapped her arms around Clarke's neck. "I've missed you beautiful." She said softly.

Clarke smiled. "You really chose me over your meeting today?"

"Of course I did." She responded.

"Why?" Clarke asked.

"I wanted to put you first. It won't always be this way. I won't always be able to put things to the side but if I can, I want to for you baby."
