Gil hung up the phone with Clarke and hopped into the car with Janet.

"Babe you have got to call Clarke. She misses you so much." He glanced at her. She wasn't paying attention, instead she was responding to a text from her publicist. "I'm sorry babe what?" She replied.

"Dunk, you're woman is missing you." He said again. "You need to calm her back."

"I know and I miss her too. Things have just been kind of crazy lately. I'm trying to mentally prepare for this interview and the OUT magazine apparently wants to present me with an Icon award." She laid her head back against the seat. "There is so much to do and not much time to do it."

"Just remember, you wanted this just as much as she did. You need to figure out what you guys are doing J." Gil said carefully.

"What do you mean what we're doing?" Janet asked, looking at him confused.

"You guys are in love right? Have you even discussed whether or not you're together? Or are you just messing around?" He asked.

"I'm still going through my divorce and it's almost finalized. I'm just waiting on that. And then..." she got quiet as she thought carefully before speaking again.

"And then what, you gonna go before the world and tell them that you two are a couple? Come on J, I know you. You need to figure out what you are doing with her." He said again.

"I agree Gil." Her driver Preston said looking into the rear view mirror. "You seem happy, why not go for it?"

Gil threw his hand up. "See? Even Preston agrees with me."

"No one asked you Preston." She laughed. "Just don't kill us on the way to the studio please."

He laughed and focused his eyes back on the road.

Janet looked over at Gil. "Okay you're right. It's not like I haven't been thinking about it. And I do love her, very much. I'm just afraid how I will be viewed after a 3rd failed marriage, multiple failed relationships and now, I come out with a woman."

"All valid concerns but she has the right to know where your head is too. She is just as invested as you. Don't leave Clarke in the dark. Be honest about it." He said. "Here, call her." He said and handed her his cell.

"We're here guys." Preston said. "Safe and sound might I add."

"That is going to have to wait." Janet said, taking another look at herself in the mirror before getting out of the car.

Gil followed her inside. She was immediately greeted by staff and showed to her dressing room for hair and makeup. Once finished Gil grabbed his phone.

"You slay me every time bitch!" He snapped a few pictures. He made them into a collage and sent them to Clarke with the text :

Isn't she fucking beautiful!?!?

Gil sat in the audience and watched his best friend charm the host and the crowd.

"How has it been being on tour again?" The host asked.

Janet smiled sweetly. "It's where I'm most comfortable other than the studio. I have been having such a blast." She said.

"Every show has sold out so far." He stated as the crowd went crazy. "How does that make you feel? How does it feel to be able to still sell out shows at the age of 52?"

"Uhhh 51!" Gil yelled from the audience as the camera panned his way. Janet along with the audience burst into laughter.

"Thank you Gil. That's my best friend, I don't go anywhere with out him. And to answer your question, it feels amazing. I have such wonderful fans and they have continued to stay with me on this journey. I couldn't be more grateful." The crowd clapped and roared as the interview came to an end.

Janet and Gil made their way back to the car.

"Bitch he tried it... 52? Tha fuck??"

Janet laughed looking down at her phone. "Damn that took forever. Can you check what else we have to do today?"

"Well I'm hungry food is definitely on the list, but other than that, we need to head to OUT magazine. They want to go over the terms of the award you're receiving and you have to work on your speech."

"Okay sounds good. Did Clarke respond to your text yet?"

He looked down at his phone. "Not yet, she's probably still at Brylee's."

Janet looked up from her phone. "Brylee? What would she be doing at Brylee's?"

"I set up a lunch date for them. I told Clarke she should get to know her better since they work so closely together. I thought it might help with their chemistry on stage."

"Did you think to ask me how I would feel about that?" Janet asked. She seemed seriously irritated now.

"Umm okay." Gil said. "J the girl was missing you. I knew that you would be busy this entire week. They live close and have a lot in common. She needed something to do other than sit at home by the phone, waiting for you to call or text." Janet looked at him, smacked her lips and folded her arms. He scoffed. "Are you seriously worried right now? Janet, Clarke loves you. You're all she ever talks about. There isn't a soul on this earth that could take her away from you." Gil brushed the hair from her face that managed to escaped her neat ponytail. "She needs some friends and Brylee is cool. So stop worrying." He said. "And stop looking at me like I just gave your damn woman away."

Janet laughed although her mind was going a million miles an hour now. She pulled out her phone, scrolled to Clarke's name.

Hey, beautiful. Just wanted you to know that I'm thinking about you and I miss you. I want to see you tonight. I will call once I'm free. I promise.
