tyler and josh ordered the same thing, a crunch wrap supreme and a baja blast.

tyler dug right in. josh watched, glad his friend was finally eating.

"slow down ty!" josh laughed.

tyler smiled, hearing the redhead's laugh. it gave him butterflies.

"you haven't even touched yours yet," tyler pointed out.

"well, actually, i got it for you to take home. in case you get hungry later."

tyler stared at josh for a second, confused as to why he suddenly cared so much.

"thanks."

"it's no problem. you're never a problem."

tyler felt the heat rush to his cheeks. josh was being strangely nice.

"i'm not?"

"no, never. you know i'll always be here for you."

tyler nodded, even though he didn't believe that.

"josh?"

"yeah?"

"is debby going to replace me?"

josh hesitated, sending tyler's heart plummeting. of course she would replace tyler.

"no!" josh choked out, reaching across the table to hold tyler's hands.

tyler felt his heart pounding against his ribcage. josh drove him crazy. especially when his thumbs rubbed the backs of tyler's hands.

"okay."

tyler didn't believe him. he knew he could easily be replaced.

"i love you, remember?"

"i love you too," tyler mumbled, dropping his gaze to his lap.

"i'd never want to hurt you."

tyler picked his head up, giving josh a strange look. shouldn't he say he never would hurt him?

"i know..." tyler said slowly.

"good, thats good."

"josh?"

"what?"

"is something gonna happen?"

"what do you mean?"

"between us."

"we're just friends tyler..?"

"i mean are we gonna stop being friends?"

"why would you think that?"

tyler shrugged.

"i love you," josh repeated, giving tyler's hands a squeeze.

"i love you too."
