In English we had a sub teacher and they made us write a paragraph about how books and stories have affected our lives.

How stories have affected my life:
Sometimes I look at the books on my cupboard and ask "Why?". Why can't those stories by real? Why can't life really be like that? Why aren't people really like that?. Some stories leave you with so many in answered questions like this. But why, if they are just stories, just words on a dead tree, do they affect us so much? Why can they change you? Why? How do these fictional characters make such a huge impact on us?
So why? So many of our expectations, our personality, who we are, have come from the stories we read.
But why? After all, they're just words.
They're not real, and they never will be real. We may hope, but they never were, and never will be.
