Chapter 33

Ahem, ahem... Who's ready for a big announcement? 

"Mal!" Evie knocked on Ben's and Mal's bedroom door. 

"Hey Evie, come on in," Ben said through the door. Evie opened the door and brought in a dress. 

"I made Mal's dress..... Where is she?" Evie asked looking around.

"She's in the bathroom. And has been since lunch," Ben said glancing towards the bathroom door.

"Well, thank you, goodbye," Evie said pushing Ben out of the room.

"Wait, what?" Ben tried to go back in but Evie shut the door. 

"I'll take it from here!" Evie called to him. She heard him sigh and start walking down the hall.

"Mal, he's gone," Evie said and Mal opening the door. 

"Thanks E," Mal said coming out of the bathroom.

"No problem. Now you wanna tell me why you were hiding out in the bathroom?"

"Well, he doesn't know yet," Mal said.

"You mean you haven't told him?!" Evie said.

"Shh! Keep it down."

"That still doesn't explain why you were camping out in the bathroom."

"Because, since he doesn't know, I'm avoiding him."

"Mal, that's ridiculous."

"Says you. You told Doug in the first five minutes after you found out," Mal said crossing her arms.

"That's because the baby is fifty percent his."

"Are you sure that's true? Eli looks exactly like Doug except that he has your hair."

"That's not the point!"

"What is the point?"

"The point is, is that you can't hide forever."

"I know."

"Then why are you worrying him?"

"Because of this," Mal lifted her shirt and showed Evie her stomach..

"Whoa, when did that happen?" Evie asked as she saw Mal's stomach.

"I have no idea. Is this normal?" 

"Well, you're obviously gonna show earlier, I mean, you are carrying twins. How far along are you?"

"Thirteen weeks."

"Then yeah, I'm guessing that's normal," Evie shrugged. "So, if you don't tell Ben soon, he'll most likely figure it out."

"You and I are talking about the same person right?" Mal asked pulling her shirt back down.
