Samantha

     “I think we should have a ball..no, no – a Masquerade.”

“Are you crazy?” Brandon’s tall figure appeared in the bathroom door. “With all that’s been happening you think a Masquerade Ball is a good idea?”

“Of course!” She raced over to him. “It’ll help everyone forget the drama for a while.”

“I get that you’re a Vampire and living on the edge is kind of our thing, but I think this is falling off the edge to a rocky death.” He dragged his hand through his messy morning hair.

“I’ll ask Leila and see what she thinks.” Samantha pouted. “You’ll see. She’ll love the idea.”

     “I don’t think that’s a good idea, Sam,”

“Please! Everyone would love it. We’ll have guards from every Kingdom, no one will get hurt!”

“I like the idea,” James offered from across the dining table.

     “Sounds fun.” Lily added.

“Fine, you can have your Masquerade,” Leila agreed and Samantha clapped her hands together in excitement.

“Okay, great! I’ll plan everything and we can have it next week, Friday at my Kingdom.” She smiled widely.

Friday.

Everyone had been so excited since the word spread that they were having a ball.

Samantha was excited, too, but she was also beyond stressed. “The punch bowl of blood needs to be bigger! We don’t want moody hungry Vampires and Wolves under the same roof.” Samantha reminded her helpers.

Samantha felt a tap on her shoulder. “The raw meat is here.” The Wolf helpers informed her.

“Okay, thanks.  Put it over there,” She waved her hand towards an empty table.

“How’s it going?” Came a deep voice. She turned around to find Damian looking around at the newly decorated ballroom.

“Pretty good. I’m almost done, all I need is the music...” Samantha looked over to a few Vampire’s carrying loud speakers. “And here it is.”

You can tell everyone to start getting ready. The Masquerade starts in an hour. She informed Leila.

Noah

The once warm turned cold and he realized he’d been in the shower for far too long.

He got out of the shower and dried off, then put on his green tuxedo and mask. Noah wasn’t happy out going to the ball – not at all. He missed Naomi, and though all they did was have sex on a regular basis, he had grown quite fond of her. He hated Leila for putting her under a sleeping curse, and he hated that he couldn’t do anything about it.

Leila

The Masquerade had started a while go and everything was going fine so far, but Leila was not letting her guard down. A few girls from the other kingdoms had complemented her on her long Black silk dress, while others are too envious to say anything polite.
