Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn looked at the unconscious people before her, her eyes widened in shock.

“What the hell is happening?” She asked, clinging to Joseph for dear life. She saw Leila begging to move toward them, and she gasped in surprise. Sure, Kaitlyn looked all bas ass with her piercings and now blue hair, but she was just like any other girl. She was scared.

“They’re okay. They’re just going through the same process Kaitlyn and Joseph did.”

Kaitlyn suddenly became dizzy, and everything  around her began to spin. She can’t breathe, and suddenly large balls of ice are falling from above. “Joseph!” She heard someone yell, but she couldn’t decipher who.

“This isn’t me! It’s Kaitlyn!” She felt Joseph’s arms around her, hugging her protectively to his chest. “Kaitlyn, you need to stop this.” He whispered in her ear, kissing her cheek repeatedly. She began to breathe evenly again, and everything stopped spinning. She looked up at Joseph, blushing. “I–I can’t.”

He smiled sadly, lifting his arm in the air, ceasing the hail storm.

“Gabe, you’re training her.” Kaitlyn heard Leila speak, making her tune in on the conversation.

“What? Why can’t I train her?” Joseph protested, hugging Kaitlyn even tighter.

Kaitlyn looked at Leila, who had an eyebrow raised. “If you train her she’ll be distracted – she won’t be able to focus.”

     Joseph sighed.

Gabe

When they got to the training room Leila had made just for this occasion, Gabe can already tell Kaitlyn didn’t want to be there.

“So, what do we learn first?” Her question is coaxed in fake excitement.

“Well, you’re gonna learn to not be a bitch,” Gabe snapped.

     “Excuse you—”

“Look, I know you don’t want to be here, neither do I. I want to be in my castle, on my bed, laying next to my pregnant girlfriend–”

“Ella is pregnant?!” She gasps and puts her right hand over her parted lips.

“Yeah, she is. The point is, we have to be here weather you like it or not. Just because before all this happened you were a Senior and I was a Junior doesn’t mean you can still treat me like shit. Either you put up with me and control your powers, or cause a hail storm every time you get angry. Got it?”

“Got it,” She smirks. Gabe would ask her what the smirk was about but he wanted to finish training her as soon as possible, and that meant no wasting time.

     “Great, let’s get to it.”

Gabe steps in front of her and tells her to back away, and face him. When she’s in ready position Gane proceedes start to throw punches into the space in front of me. He would have looked like a maniac if it weren’t for the water shooting from his hands all the way across the room, and getting Kaitlyn soaked.

“Hey!” She complained. “Stop it! My dress is drenched!”

Gabe just laughed at the mascara running down her face, making her look like a clown.

     “The hell was that for?”

“Well, it was supposed to be a training exercise, but I think it’s a little more for my personal amusement.”

Gabe throws another water ball at her but instead of splashing in her face, she quickly raises her hand in front of her, and freezes the ball mid–air.

Gabe grins widely as she stares at the ball in amazement.

“I was throwing water at you to get you angry. To get emotion out of you. The more emotion you’re feeling the stronger your powers are.” Kaitlyn still looked a bit confused, so  Gabe continued to explain. “You obviously had a panick attack out there. Everything was happening to quickly and you couldn’t handle it, so you freaked out. Your emotions went heywhire.”

“..That’s why I caused the hail storm.” She realises and Gabe nods in agreement.

“Now that you’ve frozen something, you must learn how to thaw it,”

“But I don’t know how to..”

“We’ll learn about that tomorrow. I think you’ve definitely had enough for today,” Gabe looks over her drenched dress and ruined mascara.

They both laughed and walked out of the room. Maybe training her wouldn’t be so bad after all.
