"This is my daughter." Jay whispered and everything changed. It wasn't a question. There was no way she could even deny it, they looked exactly alike. He was softer. In this moment, his first time looking at his daughter, he saw nothing wrong. His eyes teared up and a couple tears spilled over.
"Hi, pretty girl." He said to her. She shyly clung onto Bey's legs.
"You hurting mommy?" She asked.
"No! No! I'm sorry, princess. Me and mommy were just playing, Okay?"
"Okay." She agreed before looking up at Beyoncé. "I'm hungry, mommy."
"Go tell Karim I said to get you something to eat."
"Okay!" She galloped outside to find her brother leaving Bey and Jay in silence.
"She's beautiful, Bey."
"Thank you."
Jay teared up again for multiple reasons. His emotions were all over the place.
"Come here." Bey said.
Jay wasted no time hugging her and crying on her shoulder. He'd been dreaming of having her back in his arms for 3 years. Even when he was angry with her and he still kind of is. He was more than happy that she didn't go through with the abortion.
"I'm sorry." She mumbled feeling herself tear up too. "I really am."
He lifted her chin and placed multiple kisses on her lips.
"Stop, Jay."
They held eye contact until the back door opened.
"Ma, can you get your child?" Karim groaned, but stopped when he saw Jay.
"Jay?"
"Congratulations, man."
"Yeah, thanks." Karim said shaking his hand. "Here, mom. Take her."
"What is she doing?"
"Nothing, but this is my party and I don't want to babysit."
"Fine." Bey chucked. "Come here, Blue."
Karim ran back outside and Blue walked into her arms to be picked up.
"Blue?" Jay repeated. "Is that her real name or nickname?"
"It's her real name."
"And her last name...?"
"Is carter."
"Wow." Jay whispered. "Forgive me for being so emotional."
