August POV

We had an emergency meeting for some reason and I had to bring River along because she was with me. Aurora was with my moms so it's just us two, just for a couple of hours.

" Do you really need to go ".

" Yeah ". I say pulling into the parking lot.

" I can stay in the car ". She said.

" No you not now come on ". I say.

She just sat there and got out.

I grabbed her hand and she rolled her eyes.

" Don't act up ". I say.

" Whatever ".

" Is that Tree girl gone be here ". She asked.

" Yes because she's my assistant ". I say teasing her.

" Why can't I be your assistant ". She asked.

" Because your rude to everyone and gets jealous ". I say giggling.

" No I don't ".

We walked into the office and and we were kinda early only Bri was here.

" Whats up ". I say to her.

" Hey August ". She said.

She just looked at River, we sat cross from her.

" How is this an emergency meeting but no ones here ". River say shaking her head.

" be quiet ". I say shaking my head.

She looked at me and pulled out her phone.

" Aurora has an appointment next week ". River say closing her phone.

" I know ". I said smiling.

River kept talking like she wouldn't stop I just looked at her.

River POV

We were at home after shopping and walking around
I'm so tired. August decided not to eat out he wanted to cook so we went to the store bought some food.

" Is there any more gummy bears left ". I asked sitting on the couch.

" Yeah ". He say.

The tossed me a pack and I winked at him. Aurora grabbed it out my hand and started to put it in her mouth.

" Stop ". I say.

She always putting something in her mouth. I gave her a gummy and she smiled.

There was a knock on the door, I got up and opened it when I did I wanted to slam that shit in there face.

" Is August here ".

" No ". I say about slam the door.

" I really need to tal-

She was interrupted by August coming to the door.

" What you doing here ". He asked.

" I need your help ".

I looked at her, it was Lola I didn't want anything to do with her. She looked different she was holding a newborn wrapped in blankets.

" Whats going on ". August asked.

" I just had a baby ". She say.

" Come on its cold out here ". He say stepping aside.

They came in and she sat on the couch. I picked up Aurora who was playing with her toy.

" I've been on the run from Que since I told him I was pregnant ".

" Why ".

" He claimed I cheated and took his money he changed a lot he use to hit on me when he think I'm lying......the day I told him I was pregnant he started going crazy he beat me....i was going to take my life that night but I couldn't I decided to escape I've been living in hotel since and now I know he's really out looking for me because he showed up at the hospital and I ended up here ". She say.

" You need somewhere to stay ". I asked.

" Yeah ".

" We have guest house you can live there it's safe ". August say.

That's when I caught an attitude, how the fuck you gone make a decision right in front of me.

I grabbed Aurora and rushed upstairs.

I was upstairs on my phone when August came in the room. He looked at me.

" You good ".

I didn't say anything I just kept looking at the tv.

" You hear me talking to you ". He say.

I still didn't say anything.

" August it's not about that ".

" You cheated on me with her than now You welcoming her into our home with my say ". I protested.
