I was sitting up in my hospital bed, I gripped the sheets tightly. It's not fair....why....I clenched my teeth together.
"Akane...how are you feeling?" a Nurse asked
I just ignored her, looking out the window. She sighed and left, I've had no visitors all day or while I was in here for the past month....but it made sense. My team was dead and my Sensei hated me....I still don't know what happened to him. The nurses and doctors say I don't need to know anything like that.
One of the nurses were helping me walk, Lady Tsunade healed me up....but she couldn't really do anything. I survived, but I couldn't do any Taijutsu....to other Shinobi that was probably fine....except. I'm....I shook my head as we headed for the door that leads to the little garden.
"Hey Akane!" Sakura smiled cheerfully
Her and Ino held a flower, I just glanced at them and walked away from them. I stopped and leaned onto the wall. Ow....I heard the nurse sigh.
"My apologies. She's having some difficulty with the changes." she said
"Changes? She's fine right...." said Ino
"Weren't you told?" the nurse sounded surprised
"No....we've been told no one was allowed to see her." said Sakura
"Right....I forgot about that. It's best that way....we don't want her to get worse." the nurse sighed
I clenched my fists, and I slipped into a room; I sat down on the bed. They didn't want anyone to see....they know. I squeezed my eyes tightly, and clenched my teeth down. Don't cry....don't cry.
"Akane?? Are you okay?" Choji yawned
I went stiff in shock, I turned to face him. He was on a different bed,
"Wh-Why are you here?" I croaked
"I ate too much." he laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
There was a knock on the door, I quickly hid behind Choji's bed. Two set's of feet walked in, there was panic outside the door.
"What's going on?" Choji asked
"Akane disappeared while they were helping her get walking again." said Shikamaru
The door closed, I had to use the bed to stand up. Asuma and Shikamaru stared at me for a moment before both sighing.
"If you call them. I swear I'm going to fight my way out of here." I said
"How are you feeling?" Asuma asked
"I've been asked that question so many times it's annoying." I said
"Have you ever answered them?" Shikamaru rose an eyebrow,
"Hm....not really....did they tell you about my condition?" I asked Asuma
"....Tsunade told us. None of the Genin know." said Asuma
"How bad is it?" Shikamaru asked
The door swung open, Lady Tsunade was glaring at me.
"I can't be a Shinobi anymore." I said
"That's not true. You just can't use Taijutsu." said Shizune
I slapped the Nurse's hand away, and I let the tears slip. I tore off the bandages around my eyes and stared right at Shizune.
"Now tell me that." I snapped
My hand was grabbed by Choji and he squeezed it. I fell to the ground, my legs and back felt like they were on fire.
"Let's get you back to bed...." a nurse said
"Don't....touch me...." I choked out
"Leave her. Shizune, stay with her. I'll be back." said Tsunade
"I'm not getting the Curse Mark. I'd rather die." I said, snarling at her
She and the others left, Asuma sat me on the bed next to Choji's. Shikamaru held my hand as I went to sleep. Why....I gave his hand a squeeze, why did it have to happen to me? Is it because I couldn't protect them...
"It's not your fault....I'm here." Shikamaru muttered
I relaxed a bit, and fell asleep.

I knocked on his door, his mother answered it. She gave me a sad smile and stepped aside.
"He's in his room." she said
"Thank You," I slipped off my shoes, as I stepped inside.
"No....Thank You for being there for him....he really does care for you." she nodded
I bowed slightly to his father as I passed him, heading up the stairs and to Shikamaru's room. I knocked on the door, and opened it. He was sitting in front of a Shoji board. I walked over to the other side, but he grabbed my handed and tugged me into his lap. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer to him; burying his head in my neck.
"....Stay with me. Don't get hurt." he muttered
"I promise....I won't leave the village. I'll stay safe....I'll stay with you." I promised him
He moved his hands under my shirt and traced my scar, I closed my eyes and bit my lip. They were nice and cold.
"Lay down with me?" he muttered
"Of course." I smiled
I got off of his lap, I used wind jutsu to close the door. I slipped off my shirt, and bottoms so I was in shorts and a tank top. He changed into sweats and laid down; he placed his head on my chest and closed his eyes. I relaxed and closed my eyes as I wrapped my arms around him the best I could. Falling asleep with him,
