After Claire left, I was left in my room wondering if I was really wrong about everything. I tried to remember everything that happened in last few months. I had the most wonderful time of my life with Sam, and then everything just changed all of a sudden. I was so exhausted with all this brain storming that my head could explode any moment. Just then I felt a hand on my head. I turned around and saw mom standing beside me looking a little worried.

Trying hard to sound as normal as I could I said, "Hey Mum!"

"Good morning son, are you alright?" She asked combing my hair back with her fingers.

"Y... Yes mom, why do you ask?"

"Because in past seven years, you have never been late for work, and today it's almost half past noon and you are still sitring here by yourself. What is the matter son? Is it about that girl? What was her name.... Oh yes, Samantha!" I could hear hatred for Sam in my mom's voice. It was not the right time to tell her the truth.

"No mom, everything is fine. I just came here to see Claire and then thought I would just grab few things from my room and then go back", I lied.

She looked around the room, as if cross checking my words and actions and said, "Hmmm, alright. I just came to remind you that it has been more than two months and you have not yet spoken about your promise".

"Promise?", I was confused.

"Yes, we had a deal, remember, that Samantha will have to pass my test to get my approval. I hope my son is not thinking about betraying me by breaking the deal".

In all the drama that had happened, I completely forgot about this deal with mom. "Mom, I don't think Sam is ready for the test right now", I said hesitating.

"Why not? Is she scared of failing?"

"No. She .... She needs more time".

"You have already taken a month extra. Give me a sold reason, or else forget about her and marry Julianne".

"I don't want to marry Julianne mom", It was frustrating, arguing with my mom.

"Why not? Tell me one reason, one valid reason", she demanded.

I didn't have a reason. I kept quiet. But then someone from behind us gave the answer, "I have one solid reason, why Oliver should not marry me, Aunt Rose".

"Julianne, darling what are you saying. You don't need to help my naive son in this", mom said putting her arms around Julianne's shoulders.

I looked at her, she looked pale, sickly. Her eyes were puffed up and blood red. "Julianne, what happened to you?" I asked out of concern.

"I am sorry Oliver, I.... ruined your relationship. Sam... Er... Actually...", she was out of words, stammering at each word.

"What are you saying Julianne?" Mom spat at her in anger.

"Aunt Rose, I am sorry. Please don't hate me. But I need to confess something. I.. I never loved Oliver. Infact I am in love with Ben, Sam's friend. I was after Oliver's money."

"What the hell is wrong with you Julie? You were after my son's money. Is this some kind of a joke? I mean, you are the only daughter of your parents. The only heir of Tucker empire", Mom screamed.

"Tucker's Industry is actually in debt. The things that Ben told you about the financial discrepancy in the financial statements were true. My dad was using me to get hold of your financials", she said in a low tone. My mom went speechless hearing this.

"And what about Sam? Why did you say that you were sorry for ruining my relationship?" I asked.

"Sam never stole those designs. I gave Justin money to do that. He got her login credentials by tricking Christine", she said and I just couldn't take all this anymore and before I could think rationally my hand hit her face hard and she fell in the arms of my mom.
