“Monica? I know what we can do tonight,” Anna’s voice said. Why hadn’t I closed the door? I was freaking tired after the longest running trip ever, and I was not about to anything else than laying (almost) naked in my bed.
“Not happening if it requires a bra, or getting out of this bed,” I said.
“Not even packing?” she asked and I could hear the excitement in her voice.
“What are you talking about?” I asked, to tired to care. Without a warning Anna suddenly jumped in my bed.
“Packing,” she said simply.
“Anna, I’m to tired for this shit, say what you’re going to say so I can reject it and then sleep for the rest of the night,” I said.
“You’re too tired for a trip to Bahamas?” she asked. I instantly raised my head and looked at her. “Yes, you heard right. Bahamas,” she said slowly like I needed to process it.
“I am not in the mood for joking now,” I said warningly.
“I’m not joking. Do you remember that competition I signed up for, the one you called competitions for stupid monkeys?” she asked and I slowly nodded. Anna had an obsession with signing up for competitions online where you could win different things, among them a trip to Bahamas.
“Guess who just won?” she asked as a huge grin spread across her face.
“You won?” I asked shocked and could feel some energy build up inside me. A trip to Bahamas was very tempting at the moment. We were done with all exams, but had no money for a vacation so a free one would fit perfectly. She nodded.
“Seriously? Do not fuck with me right now?” I said giving her one last chance to say it was a joke.
“I’m serious. First class plane ticket, and five-star hotel,” she said with a grin.
“Oh my god,” I said and stood up in the bed.
“We’re going to Bahamas BABY!” Anna screamed as she jumped up and down in my bed.
“I can’t believe we’re on our way to Bahamas,” I said for maybe the tenth time. The more I said the more real it became. Anna was just as excited as me, actually even more excited. She hadn’t been able to sit still since we started packing.
“Yeah baby,” Anna said and took a sip of her champagne. One of the pleasures with first class. Me on the other hand was kind of careful with the drinking. Drinking in first class had gotten me in quite a mess the last time, and I was not about to go through that again.
“Hey Anna?” I said and looked at her. She met my eyes.
“What?” she said with a warm voice.
“I’m sorry…” I said silently.
“For what?” she asked. Her blue eyes looked confused at me. She saw that I was upset.
“I’m sorry for being a fulltime bitch lately. For being in a bad mood all the time, and letting it out on you…” I said and didn’t even manage to look her in the eyes. Bad conscience just filled up inside me as I thought about it. What had she ever done to me? For a moment it felt like I was about to cry, but when I suddenly felt her hand take mine I pulled my self together.
“It’s okay honey, I don’t blame you. And by the way, you haven’t been that bad. You’ve just been a lot more sarcastic than before, and you have lost the idea of when to joke and when to shut up,” she said with a smile. I smiled thankfully back at her.
“You’re the best,” I said pulling her into a tight hug.
“I know, remember that until the next time you get mad,” She said and grinned.
“I will,” I said and smiled at her. Can things be anymore perfect? For the first time in ages I feel completed. I opened the coke I had bought earlier. To my surprise there was quite the explosion when I opened it, which gave my white top a cute brown pattern.
“Oh god, I need to fix this,” I said and frantically tried to get it away.
“I got an extra t-shirt in my bag if you want it?” Anna suggested. I took her bag and quickly found it.
“Thank you, I will just go to the toilet and change,” I said and stood up. Anna smiled at me before looking back into her phone. God know who she texted. As I went towards the toilet I felt a small push in my side.
“Oh I’m sorry,” I said without looking around.
“Monica?” a very familiar voice said. I turned around and met a very familiar face.
“Oh my god…”
