I think the summary would've been better if you spaced it out, and you explain everything well. Right from the start there is very good imagery I can definitely picture what is going on. The cat protecting its young can be related to what people do in real life. The plot development is very good, and the animals talk, there actions are real, you do a really great job incorporating that in your writing.
