James' POV

I run around my office, searching for a file on a case that I was assigned to.
"Where is it?!" I almost yell.
"James!" I freeze and turn my head to see the chief standing there.
"Sorry Sir, I'll be th-"
"Go home James."
I raise an eyebrow.
"What?" I ask,  confused.
"You've been stressed a lot lately and everyone can see it. So just take the day off."
I shake my head.
"I'm completely fine Sir."
"Go home James." He demands.
I sigh and pick up my jacket.
"I'll see you tomorrow."
Grabbing my keys, I head home for the day.

---

I unlock the front door as I stare at my watch. It's around two o'clock (14:00).
"Claire!" I shout while walking into the empty place.
I'm about to yell for her again when I spot a note sitting on the counter.

Left to buy some groceries.
Will be back in time to pick up Izzy.
-Claire

She knows that I normally come home for a minute around this time to pick up some dinner.
Yes, it's nowhere near dinner time, but I pick it up now so I can eat it as I work later.
Sighing, I place my jacket on the back of the couch and head toward my room to relax.
As I pass Izzy's room, I notice a glow coming from inside.
"She has to stop leaving that thing on."
I chuckle and push open her door.
Sure enough, the computer is on.
"That girl-"
I'm about to hit the power button when I notice a window is open on it.
What catches my eye about it, is the fact that it's called 'The Afton Family'. Other taps are also open with it.
There are tons of articles about out family and everything that happened.
I hit the power button and stand there for a minute, thinking.
I then spot a notepad next to the computer. It seems like it's a list of things about Aphmau and Andy, even the other missing kids.
At the bottom is a written down phone number that's circled a bunch of times.
I pick it up and continue to scan it's contents.
"This girl is going to be sorry when she gets home."
Turning the computer back on, I close all the windows and open a new one.
"I'm sick of this. I told Claire that I didn't want her to know."
Slowly I type into the searchbar...

Izzy's POV

I quickly rush into the crowd around my school just as kids are being let out.
"Perfect timing." I mumble to myself and begin to search for my mom among the crowd.
After a minute or two, I spot her sitting on a bench.
She seems to be looking all around trying to spot me.
I sneakily go up behind her and tap her on the shoulder.
"HOLY-"
She cuts herself off when she sees that it's just me.
"Don't scare me like that Izzy!"
She tells me with a hand over her heart.
"Fiinnee," I jokingly complain.
"You're no fun."
Mom rolls her eyes and stands up.
"Let's just get home and have a snack." She says.
I nod and we walk in silence all the way back home.

---

We enter the house laughing at a stupid joke that I made.
"And then-"
I cut myself off as I spot my dad standing in front of us. He's got a death glare on his face and something in his hand that I can't make out.
"James? What are you doing home?" Mom asks.
"Yeah, I thought you had to work late today."

That glare never means anything good.

"I got sent home early because I was very stressed." He tells us.
"What has you all stressed?" I ask and start to walk to the kitchen, but he stops me.
"Well the reason for why I was stressed has changed since I've gotten home."
I raise an eyebrow and try to step past him, but again he blocks me.
"Are you okay?" Mom asks.
Dad only sends the glare her way.
That's when I notice what's in his hand.
It's a black notebook with a red X in the center.
My eyes widen as I try to keep my cool.
"I am not okay." He snaps.
"Isabelle has been looking up stuff about Freddy's and even called someone about it!" He shouts.

I take a step back from him and set my backpack on the floor.
"What's wrong with that?" I ask.
He turns to me angrily.
"EVERYTHING!!" He yells.
"I'M SICK OF YOUR MOTHER RUINING WHAT WE HAD!" He says.
"What are you talking about?" I ask, super confused.
"YOU WERE MY KID BEFORE SHE CAME IN AND MADE ME TELL YOU ABOUT SOMETHING YOU SHOULD HAVE NEVER KNOWN ABOUT!!!"
Now it's my turn to be angry.
"What do you mean, "should have never known about"?!"
I raise my voice.
"I have every right to know about what happened to my twin brother and aunt!" I tell him.
He rolls his eyes.
"You would have never cared about any of this if you're mother never came into the picture." He says.
"STOP TRYING TO BLAME HER FOR EVERYTHING!!!" I loose control of myself.
"SHE'S NOT CRAZY!! ANDY WAS MURDERED!!! AUNT APHMAU DID NOT MOVE TO GET AWAY FROM HER!!!" I yell.
"MOSTLY KIDS, BUT SOME ADULTS, HAVE BEEN GOING MISSING THERE SINCE THE SIXTIES!!!" I tell him.
"USE YOUR BRAIN FOR ONCE AND SEE THAT YOU'RE THE ONE TO BLAME RIGHT NOW!!!"
I scream at the top of my lungs.
He doesn't respond.
I look behind me to see mom with a few tears running down her face.
With open arms, my legs carry me over there so I can give her a huge well deserved hug.
"You're going to a boarding school."
I freeze.
"And that's final." Dad says before stomping away to his room.
Mom only hugs me tighter.
"I promise I won't let him keep you there for long sweetheart." She tells me.

"I got you back, and I never want to loose you again."
