Chapter 6: Eastside Gang

❈ ⋯ ❈

We were in the car for over an hour.

"This is taking forever." I groan.

"Jesus. Chill. You are very impatient. We are almost there."

I groan louder, "You said that 30 minutes ago."

He smiles, "We are 30 minutes closer."

I groan. "This is annoying."

He shrugs, "Sorry.''

I look around outside my window and sigh.

The Eastside definetly wasn't the prettiest part of town. Grafetti was everywhere, minding the sketchy people by the sidewalks staring at you as you pass by them.

"Don't stare." Nick said.

I nod and look away sinking into my seat.

''You should see the Southside. Way more of a dump then this place."

I look at him, "Why do you stay here?"

"Trust me, when I turn 18 and get a stable living I'm moving to L.A"

''Why L.A? You don't like San Fransisco?"

He shakes his head, "No, I hate it here."

I shrug and look around, "You just haven't seen it."

He hums, "What do you mean? I've seen a lot of San Fransisco. Trust me, if you seen what I have you would hate it too."

I shake my head, "You've seen a lot of bad, Nick, but you'd be surprised how much good there truly is. And when you see it you'll never want to go back." I smile gently. He shrugs. I look at him, "I promise to show you."

He doesn't say anything for a moment, then he smiles, "Okay."

I feel my heart beat and a nervous feeling in my stomach.

Nick parks and I look up. "We're here."

I step out of the truck and look around. It was decent sized cabin. Windows covered by curtains. The outside was like a normal house. A driveway, and a curb covered with cars.

Nick puts on his jacket and nudges me, "Let's go."

"Should I be nervous?'' I ask my voice cracking.

He sighs, "You'll be fine, let's go."

He grabs my hand, and I can't help but love the comforting feeling of it. His palm was so warm and he led me towards the door.

We walk inside and no one notices us at first. I look around.

It was pretty clean for a bunch of guys staying here. The couch was black along with the carpet, and most of the decor.
