"I must insist. It's my turn to be stubborn."

Patrick told her with a steely glance, and Olena felt driven to agree.

When Patrick gives you that kind of look, it was really hard to say no, Olena realized. She understood now why Jasper always lets him get his way.

This bossy side of Patrick intrigued her. When he decides to use it, the vibes that come off of him felt powerful and intimidating. And it drew Olena in.

"Fine, it's your time you're wasting anyway. Come on then."

Inside the elevator, Olena would catch Patrick stealing glances at her. Then she remembered the things Samantha accused him of during their shoot last time.

She's just your type, with those round innocent eyes that just pull you in to help, even if she doesn't ask for it... You were jealous! Jealous of your friend and a married woman!

Was Samanta correct? Did Patrick really like her?

Olena kept her eyes glued to the floor, afraid of looking up and meeting Patrick's eyes. Afraid of what she might see.

She shifted her foot uncomfortably, mentally cursing the elevator for being so slow.

Then Olena thought back to her incident earlier and felt a rush of gratitude to Patrick for being there. How embarassing it would have been if she had really collapsed in the hotel lobby!

She turned to Patrick to thank him again for rescuing her, but the elevator had stopped and Patrick had hurried out.

Oh well, I'll thank him again later, she thought and followed him out.

He stopped just outside the elevator and Olena realized he didn't know her room number so she quickly walked ahead of him to lead the way.

Good thing her room was near the elevator so she didn't have to endure the awkward silence for long.

As they reached the room, Olena opened the door then turned to thank Patrick.

"Thank you for walking me over, Pax. I really appreciate the concern."

He didn't respond and Olena thought he must be really tired yet still made the effort to come with her just so she'd be safe.

She felt guilty and grateful and touched at the gesture. On an impulse, Olena leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.

"Good night Pax. Take care."

As she turned around to enter her room, she felt Patrick pull her arm and made her face him again.

She looked up at him, surprised, and was about to ask him when she saw Patrick lean down and moved his face closer to hers.

It happened so fast yet Olena saw it as if in slow motion, each detail burning a mark in her mind.

How Patrick smelled so good, his perfume a musky scent that was so him. How his jaw had been clenched as he got closer. How his eyes had burned with something that frightened Olena.

His pupils had darkened and his eyes seemed to be filled with desire and longing and something else that Olena couldn't yet identify.

Then his lips pressed against hers urgently and eagerly, like a man who spent days in the desert and had just found water.
