God's Design For Children in the Family
1. Children are to honor their parents. (Exodus 20:12a)
"Honor---> Hebrew (heavy or weighty)
>To treat someone as if they are weighty in importance and significance.
>To obey.
>To show respect and love.
>To care for them as long as they need us.
> To seek to bring honor to them by the way we live.

+Your parents will help develop habits and choices in your life that will tend to make your live happier and longer.
+When your parents tell you not to drink and observe driving/dating rules, etc. they are not trying to spoil your fun, but trying to save your life.
+If you go your own way, you are inviting circumstances which tend to shorten your life, and make it miserable.
