=Discomfort=

*Discomfort
-dis: prefix, opposite or absence of
-comfort: state of being less worries, upset, frightened etc during the time of trouble
-discomfort: feeling of uncomfortable, worried, absent, unhappy

*Luke 7:13
"13 When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, "Don't cry.""

Health Benefits of Pain
-Helps relieve pain
-Enhances mood
-Releases stress
-Releases toxins
-Aids sleep

Why do people cry?
-Expression of happiness
-Expression of sadness

-comforting word
-shows that somebody cares for you
-shows somebody understand your situation

Reasons why she cried:
*Luke 7:11-12
"11 Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him.
12 As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out--the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her.

1. Expression of her sadness.

2. She had experienced great loss.
3. Feeling alone.

*In times like this, we need somebody.

Where is God in our discomfort?
1. In our times of discomfort, God is there.
*Luke 7:11

51 km distance from Capernaum to Nain.

2. Jesus is fully aware about our needs.
*Luke 7:12-13
"12 As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out--the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her.
13 When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, "Don't cry

"Jesus knows everything."

*Romans 8:32
"32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

3. He is loving and compassionate God.
*Luke 7:13

*Psalms 86:15
"15 But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness."

-His compassion is infinite and eternal.

4. It's an opportunity to experience God's personal touch.
*Luke 7:14
"14 Then he went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. He said, "Young man, I say to you, get up!"
15 The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.

Coffin: hopelessness

Where is God in times of our discomfort?
1. In our times of discomfort, God is there.
2.  Jesus is fully aware about our needs
3. He is loving and compassionate God
4. It's an opportunity to experience God's personal touch.
