Mercy (awa or habag)
(Kind or forgiving treatment if someone who could be treated harshly)
*Jonah 4:1-11
"Lack of mercy"

Reasons for Jonah's desire to see Nineveh destroyed:
1. Nineveh=capital city of Assyria, cruel ppl enemies of Israel.
2. Wanted to see Nineveh's downfall to satisfy his own sense of justice.
3. Nineveh's destruction would have been seen as a victory for Israel.

"Without love and mercy it is easy for us to abandon our mission."
"If you love God, you should obey Him."

*2 Peter 3:9
*Jonah 4:3-11
"Pleasure is more important for us than ppl"
"Our comfort is more important than saving ppl"
"Ang Lord kaya Niyan magprovide overnight, pero kaya Niya ding kunin yan, kaya check your heart, your priorities, ano ba talagang nilalaman niyan?"
"Kung meron mang kinukuha sayo si Lord, posibleng hindi yan nakakabuti sayo, o.. hindi para sa'yo yan."
"God's concern for Nineveh was motivated by His love."
"Mercy arises from a heart of love.."
"God has mercy upon us bcs He loves us."

God's Mercy has been demonstrated in two great ways: (Ephesians 2:4-5,8-10)
1. God has withheld His judgment from us-- even we don't deserve it.
2. God has provided a way for us to be saved through the Lord Jesus Christ.

"Tayo ay gagawa ng mabuti dahil mahal mo ang Panginoon."
