over the course of just a few days, corbyn has somewhat warmed up to eben, but he still had some negative thoughts about him.

today, zach seemed to be a bit sadder than usual, but unfortunately, being sad was normal for zach.

"give him back to me." corbyn whined as he sat on his bed, a whistle following soon after.

"no." eben laughed as he threw corbyn's bear to jonah, quickly being intercepted by zach.

"just give him the fucking bear." zach harshly spoke as he gave the bear back to corbyn.

daniel winced at zach's words as he gripped jack's hand.

"zach, just calm down a little bit. i get you're sad or mad or whatever, but you don't have to be so harsh about it." jack spoke as he squeezed daniel's hand.

"whatever." zach mumbled as he walked back to his chair.

jack looked over to corbyn who held the bear in his lap, smiling brightly as he hiccuped a few times.

"corbyn really likes that bear." daniel spoke as his head rested on jack's shoulder.

"he really does. i think it gives him a sense of comfort." jack smiled as he watched corbyn rub his thumb over the bear's arm.

"maybe it reminds him of home." daniel thought out loud.

"what do you mean by that?"

"well, corbyn was telling me about how his sister had given him a bear and a bracelet before he came here."

"i knew he had the bracelet, but what about the bear?" jack asked as he looked around the room.

"they took it away from him. they said it was bringing in germs that could harm the patients. i remember that day, he cried a lot once it was taken away from him."

"you'd think for nineteen he'd cry a little less, right?" eben laughed as he overheard daniel's story.

"shut up, he's a fragile guy." jack spoke harshly as he gripped daniel's hand out of anger.

daniel squealed before speaking swiftly. "jack, you're hurting me."

"i'm sorry." jack spoke, immediately letting go.

"so what if he's fragile? he a messed up kid just like the rest of us."

"no—" jack was cut off by corbyn.

"fuck you!" corbyn yelled as he shook his head, another tic that corbyn had seemed to pick up on.

"no, he isn't. the only messed up person here seems to be you at the moment."

"you don't want to mess with me, avery." eben smirked.

"come at me."
