Mistletoe - Shouta Aizawa X Reader

Mistletoe.  

He knew right away, the exact moment he lifted his tired eyes to the mistletoe hanging on the doorframe. One of his students, and he had a good guess who it happened to be, had placed the mistletoe there. He also guessed that it was there for him. Although it could have been for someone else. But was most likely for him.

Shouta Aizawa.

His students had been bothering him for quite some time, they usually did, but this time was different. It wasn't just about being a hero or the classes they took, this time it was about a girl. Another teacher to be exact. Who Aizawa happened to be crushing on, if he so chose to admit it. And his students knew, thanks to Mina and her big mouth and her ideas of romance and perfection. Teenagers and their fantasies he sighed at the thought.

This particular teacher was named (y/n) (y/l/n), you were the new teacher of the general studies department.Though you also went on field trips with the hero courses. Since your quirk happened to be medical related. He remembered you from his time back in UA as a student, only brief encounters with you though; a fight caused by Mic, your welcome into his 2-A class, nothing special. The two of you spoke a lot during training, he knew you weren't good at long range attacks, so when the attack on the USJ happened he made sure he could see you the same way he could see his students.

After his injuries at the USJ you spent a good amount of time at his bedside, helping Recovery Girl heal him as best as you could, you also changed his bandages regularly and did eye examinations on him when he was feeling up to it. He admired that about you, that regardless of whether you knew someone was okay, you still made time to check on their wellbeing. It was a good quality to have, especially for a teacher at UA.

And over the course of many months he grew to like you more and more. First it was tolerate, then admiration, then like, and then something more.

Aizawa wasn't used to having a crush, even during his time as a student in UA. All he had time for was sleeping, school, and hero work. Now he was the same, except most of his time was spent teaching and protecting the city from villains. He also knew he wasn't the best looking man. He knew All Might was the looker of the teachers, and Mic was the entertainment, and he, well he was the tired teacher.

What he didn't know though, was that you liked him too.

You liked the way he cared for his students so much, you liked how quick to act he was, how he slowly opened up to people, and you liked how adorable he looked when he was sleeping in his signature yellow sleeping bag on the floor of his classroom. You spent a great deal of time asking Mic all kinds of questions about Aizawa, they were close friends after all. He told you repeatedly to just ask him on a date, telling you that he felt the same way you did. But you chose to ignore him. He was just being nice. Just being a good friend.

You chose to do nothing. And so did Aizawa.

You were both just silently pinning after the other. Neither making a move. Just waiting for the other to do something. But now it was out of your hands, you sighed as you looked up at the mistletoe hanging above you on the door frame. Just your luck to land under one of these things. It wasn't even anywhere special, it was just the door to his classroom, 1-A. He happened to be walking out just as you were about to enter. You hadn't even noticed the mistletoe that was placed there until you heard Mina call out in a singsong voice. "Uh uh uh Mr.Aizawa, Ms.(Y/l/n). Look up." She giggled.

Both of you slowly looked up at the same time, your face blushed a bright pink, while his showed no sign of a change. It was so silent you swore you would be able to hear a pin drop. Aizawa closed his tired eyes for a moment before sighing quietly. "We don't have to do this. I understand that it would be completely inappropriate for something to happen between two teachers, and I apologize on behalf of my students." He began to say, but you cut him off. Grabbing his face in your small hands and pulling him towards you. You pressed your lips against his softly for a moment, and he barely had time to register what was happening before you were pulling away from him.

He stood there, unmoving, unblinking, just standing. You let out a slight little laugh, you'd never seen the pro hero so shook up about something so simple. One tiny little kiss was all it had taken.

You could almost see the gears turning in his head as he processed what had happened, and for a brief moment you could have sworn that you saw a hint of a blush on his cheeks. "Highly inappropriate. We're teachers afterall. We shouldn't be kissing, we should be teaching. Right Mr.Aizawa?" You teased with a grin on your lips. "Right you are Ms.(y/l/n). But I think it can wait a moment." He replied before gently pulling you back towards him and leaning down to your height. He pressed his lips against yours this time.

The kiss was sweet, and longer than the last one.

Enjoyable.

"Now get back to your classroom so I can teach." He ordered, shoving you lightly out of his classroom before he proceeded to shut the door. You pouted but nodded. Leaving to go back to your own classroom with the sound of his students hooting and hollering ringing through your head with each step. Aizawa tried to ignore his students eagerness, and questions. Attempting to get on with the lesson he had planned for today. But even he knew after something like that, they were unlikely to shut up for the remaining hours of the day. Unless..

"Pop quiz, failing will result in an immediate expulsion!" He barked at his students, which caused a lot of the students to screech, whine, or complain as they all scrambled towards their desks.

The next hour would give him some time to think about how he was going to ask you on a date later. The pinning was over, it was time to actually make a move.

Maybe he would have to catch you under the mistletoe again.
