MY FATHER EVENTUALLY LEFT, WHILE ME AND LILLY STAYED. Given that I was staying in town, I figured it was about time that my friends found out about Lilly. Me and Caroline sat at a booth in the Grill, Lilly in her car seat next to me. I bumped Lilly's car seat so that it would rock her. I could tell she was getting upset with no attention. I was anxiously tapping my foot as I waited for everyone to show up.

"You sure you want to do this?" Caroline asked.

"Why would I drag you all the way here if I wasn't?" I asked.

"I know, but if you do this then I'm guessing whoever was your sperm donor for her is is going to find out," Caroline reminded.

I sent my sister a look, before shrugging. "I know. It's okay. Besides, he wasn't invited," I said.

I grabbed my phone out of my pocket as my stomach churned. I pulled up the person I was looking for and started texting.

I stuffed my phone back in my pocket, and waited for my friends to arrive. "Everything okay?" Caroline asked.

"Yeah, I was just texting Damon," I explained.

"Damon?" she asked.

"Yeah, I invited him," I said.

"Why?" she wondered, giving me a look.

"Because Stefan's your vampire therapist, and Damon is mine," I said.

"Damon needs a therapist," Caroline complained.

"Yeah, well, at least he doesn't judge," I said.

"Whatever," Caroline told me.

Matt, who I had learned now worked here, came up to our table. "Hi, Matt," I said. Caroline looked at the ground.

"Hey, what can I get you guys? And who is this?" he asked, seeing Lilly.
