GIRLS NIGHT
[2×16]

I STARTED TRAINING WITH RIC EVERY MORNING OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS. It was a good distraction, even if every werewolf in town had disappeared. Jules and all the others were gone, along with Tyler. He had left town the night after I found him on my porch. He had been trying to say goodbye.

I went on with my life. I took care of Lilly, did my best at school. Well, those two kind of fought against each other. I was trying to let Carol be around Lilly some more, especially since most of the time she got stuck all by herself now that Tyler had disappeared.

So, I had agreed to let her take Lilly for a day. I had no idea that she was going to take Lilly to a Founder's meeting and get her sick. I always tried to keep Lilly out of things like that, given that her immune system still wasn't the greatest. Carol did not understand this. It left me stuck at home with Lilly for a few days, trying to get her over whatever they had given her.

I tried to help my sister with her Matt problems. I trained with Ric. I avoided the drama. I was only a few weeks from graduating. I needed to try to be normal for a little while again.

I walked into school and saw Matt walking away from my sister. "What was that about?" I wondered.

"Boy drama, as usual," she said.

"Anything I can do to help?" I asked.

She smiled. "Yeah, I think there is something that can help both of us," she said.

She dragged me to Elena's that night. The three of us and Bonnie were having a slumber party. My mom agreed to watch Lilly. I was pretty sure she was just glad to see me getting out of the house after I had only left for school the last few days.

"Chinese food or pizza?" Caroline wondered. The four of us were in the kitchen.

"Like you have to ask," Elena told her.

"I will get it," Care told us. She picked up her tablet, but then froze. Her screen saver was of her and Matt.

"I'll do it," Bonnie said, taking it from her. Caroline sighed and I walked around to pat her on the shoulder.

"Do you believe that Jonas is being sincere?" Elena wondered.

It took me a minute to remember that Jonas was Luca's father, the one who had helped save my life.

"I don't know what I believe. I think he's at a loss. He's not sure who to trust," Bonnie told us.

"Join the club," I muttered.

"Well, what are we going to do about this movie situation?" Caroline asked, changing the subject. "What about The Notebook?"

"How many times have you seen that movie, Care?" I wondered.

"That is so not the point," she said.

"Well, yeah, I mean..." Elena trailed off as Jenna entered the kitchen. "Hey," she said.

I hopped up from my stool and ran over to the woman to give her a hug. She hugged me before looking around at all of us, suspicious. "What's going on?" she wondered.
