WINTER FESTIVAL
[4×09]

I DECIDED TO GO TO THE WINTER FESTIVAL WITH CAROLINE AND LILLY. I had been working at the Grill all week, so Caroline begged me into going with her and just having a fun day. Of course, if we were trying to just have some normalcy, the supernatural had to ruin it.

Tyler came to us to tell us his plan. "You're going to do what?" I snapped.

"Hayley found a witch strong enough to do the body jump spell. You know, the Klaus specialty," Tyler said.

"So you're going to put him in someone else's body, and then what?" Caroline asked.

"We'll encase the body in concrete, then bury it," he told us.

"Why not just desiccate him like Bonnie did?" Caroline asked.

"Because to do that spell, you have to stop a human heart. I was a little short on volunteers," Tyler said.

"Well, who was dumb enough to volunteer their body to be a Klaus sublet?" Caroline wondered.

Tyler took a deep breath, clearly trying to think of a good way to say it. Me and Caroline's eyes went wide as we realized who it was. "Okay, don't freak out," he told us.

"Freak out? I'm about to hemorrhage. You volunteered?" I snapped.

"It's not forever, just long enough for the hybrids to be able to completely disappear," he said.

"Yeah? And how long is that going to take? Long enough for our daughter to be in preschool?" I asked.

He sighed, looking at Lilly. She was staring at all three of us with big brown eyes. "Look, this started with me. Whether any of us like it or not, it has to end with me. I need your support," he said.

"Well, you don't have it," I said, walking away.

Caroline found me sitting in the Grill. "You okay?" she asked.

"He can't do it," I said.

"I understand why you would be against this, but is Tyler the entire reason you're against this?" she asked.

I looked away from her, watching Lilly try to eat part of a french fry. "Please don't go there," I said.

"So I'm right?" she asked.

"Look, I can't decide how I feel and I definitely don't want to feel anything, but I do. Is it wrong that I do?" I asked.

"No, of course not," she said.

I sighed. "I just don't know how to feel about Klaus. And I don't want Tyler to be trapped in concrete six feet under," I said.

"Okay," she said. "But he is going to do this whether we like it or not. Maybe you should just talk to Klaus before it happens."

"No way," I said.

"At least go look at his painting," she said.

I rolled my eyes and stood up. "You're on Lilly duty," I said. I went and looked at Klaus' snowflake painting that was on display in The Grill.
