PICK A SIDE
[2×12]

THE SCHOOL WAS HOLDING A BARBECUE, AND OF COURSE MY SISTER WAS IN CHARGE. I was supposed to be helping, but I abandoned my post when I saw Tyler. I joined him in the parking lot. "How you feeling?" I wondered.

"I'm okay. Sore. Every muscle aches," he told me.

"But you did it. You made it through the first full moon," I said, smiling.

He then seemed to notice all the bandages on my hand. "What happened?" he asked.

I held up my wrapped up hand. "Oh, umm, you don't remember? You were about to get Caroline by accident and we definitely couldn't have that so I kind of got in the way," I said.

"I bit you?" he asked, worry filling his voice.

"Uh, yeah. But it's fine. I can survive a little werewolf bite," I said.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," he told me.

"As long as you and my sister are fine, I'll be fine," I said.

"Why did you take it instead of Caroline? She's the one with super healing," he said.

"Oh, umm, it is just that one werewolf bite, according to legend, can kill a vampire," I explained.

"How do you know that?" he wondered.

"I don't know. Caroline read something about it, and I just didn't want to risk it. You should ask her about it," I told him.

"I will," he said. "I, also, want to thank you, for everything. I don't know what I would've done without you."

I smiled, wondering if he remembered our conversation last night. "Of course," I told him. I pushed a stand of my dark hair behind my ear. "Uh, do you remember anything that we talked about last night?"

He smiled, then his lips were against mine and I was too shocked to react. After a minute, I realized this was really happening and kissed him back. I pulled away first, still a little in shock. "I said I loved you, and I meant it," he said.

I grinned. "I meant it too," I told him.

I finished my last few classes and headed towards my car. "You ditching?" Tyler asked from across the parking lot.

"I'm done for the day. I'm going home and washing all the clothes your mother bought Lilly," I said.

He chuckled. "She might have a problem," he said.

"Might?" I asked.

"Need any help?" he asked.

I rolled my eyes, knowing either way I was doing laundry by myself. "Get in the car," I told him. He grinned and did just that.

I picked up Lilly on the way back to my house. Me and Tyler went inside and I immediately did what I said I was going to do. I started grabbing Lilly's clothes to put them in the washer, the baby on my hip.

Tyler sat down on my couch. I could tell he was once again clueless as to what he was supposed to be doing. I had never actually done my chores when we were dating.
