LOVE
[2×14]

IT WAS EIGHT A.M. WHEN I SNUCK OUT OF CAROLINE'S OVERCROWDED BED. The two of us, Elena, and Bonnie had all fallen asleep in Caroline's room at some point throughout the night. I got dressed and left the house.

I went to Alaric's apartment and knocked on the door. He answered, looking like he had just woken up. "You sure you want to do this?" he asked, giving me a look.

"Yes," I said, entering the apartment.

He sighed. "I just don't want this to be your life. You're a good kid, Rory," he said.

"What am I supposed to do, Ric?" I asked, turning to face him.

"Let me, Damon, and Stefan handle this stuff," he said.

"Are you forgetting I got kidnapped yesterday?" I asked.

"I'm just saying I don't want you to choose this. The only reason I'm in this life is because I watched Damon turn my wife," he said.

I dropped my stuff on the floor. "I watched them spray Caroline in the face with vervain water and shoot her repeatedly. I listened to Jules talk about killing Rose like she was proud of it. I got shot in the stomach and almost died," I told him.

"I'm just saying you have options. You can-"

"She threatened to take Lilly away from me," I told him, interrupting.

That made him pause. "I'm just trying to say there are other ways," he told me.

"What? You're the only human involved in this, and you know how to fight," I told him.

"You're not human," he reminded.

"No, but despite how much I want to sometimes, I can't kill Carol Lockwood or Tyler and I don't know where Jules is. That means I'm at a disadvantage to everything, including you," I said.

"Fine. What do you want me to do?" he asked.

"Train me, or I'll find someone else who will," I told him.

He nodded. "Okay, first we need to work on your strength and your punches," he said. He led me over to the punching bag. I started hitting it, but he stopped me after a few punches. "Keep your wrist straight and don't tuck your thumb." I nodded and did as I was told. "Good," he told me.

At noon, Alaric kicked me out. I went to the Grill with Bonnie, Caroline and my daughter.

"Okay, so tell us about this big witchy plan you've been cooking up," Caroline told the Bennett witch.

"We still don't know the extent of what Elijah's up to," Bonnie told us.

Elijah, the old vampire that Damon and Stefan had staked, was still alive. He had agreed to protect all of us, but we still didn't know why. He was, however, keeping his promise. His witches were the ones who had saved us last night.

"No, we don't," Caroline said.

"So I'm going to ask Luca what he knows," Bonnie told her.

"And he's not going to tell you anything," Caroline said.

Luca was one of Elijah's witches. His father was the witch who had saved us. I wished he had had slightly better timing, but I couldn't really complain. I was still alive and so was everyone else.
