In these shadows
Our voices muffle
As if the options of whether to scream or speak
Were choking our breath away
Through cracks of light
Display the darkness more vividly
Both were fighting for dominance
This empty room of
Our unspoken apologies
Held back yells for help
We stand staring into each other's eyes
In hopes for a storm
Or hurricane
To surge
And break this silence
...
Perhaps
One day
Our words will
Get across
Our thick heads
And none of us
Have to lose
~heavy breathing, two people, a room, and tension
