Han listened attentively to Akira's breath through the phone. She didn't say anything for a few seconds. Hundreds of emotions coursed through his veins trying to guess what could be the mystery behind Anisha. Why did the name affect her?

"Akira, are you there?"

"Yeah, I got you," she finally answered, "Anisha was my twin sister. She died when we were six years old."

It was certainly not the response Han was expecting so he apologized for intruding and promised he'll join them soon. His mind was like a surging perplexity. There were too many unanswered questions or wrong alibi.

Someone is definitely lying.

Akira had never gone to Dubai before but according to Ryan she was there and revealed her name as Anisha. Han couldn't find a logical explanation to what's happening. His eyes fell on a bruised Ryan sitting on the couch and staring at the ceiling.

"Let's go," he ordered.

Ryan attempted to get up but when he couldn't Han helped him. He handled him with a hand and they walked towards the main hotel. Arriving at the reception, he asked for a doctor to be sent at the suite where they were staying.

Ehteshaam wasn't pleased at all with Ryan's presence but Han somehow convinced him that he is important to them.

"How did you get hurt so badly?" The doctor asked. Ryan shared an eye contact with Ehteshaam and smiled at the doctor. "I'm just paying for my sins. Will I be okay?"

"Yeah, I'm giving you a strong injection; you will be fine by tomorrow and try not to do heavy works. You need rest badly."

They waited for the doctor to leave and gathered for dinner and finally Ehteshaam lashed out.

"Han why is he here? He doesn't deserve this special treatment."

"He'll buy us time that's why he is here. Whatever is happening to Akira isn't as simple as it looks like so I'm going to need time to investigate it. Ryan I want you to be with Akira all the time at college tomorrow, the entire week or even the entire month."

"No I'm not going back to college," Akira pleaded.

"Yes you have to; you will not abandon your education because of a bunch of life destroyers. Ryan will be with you like a personal bodyguard and he'll drop you at my apartment when your classes are over. If he truly repents what he has done to you and he cares about you, he'll prevent them from bullying you that's how it's going to be."

"Please Akira give me a chance at redemption. I'll do anything for you," added Ryan.

Akira's eyes were full with tears. She didn't want to go to that place again. Everyone hated her and will insult her at any opportunity they get. Lowering her gaze down, she bit her lips to prevent a sound from escaping her mouth. The more she'll be a coward; the more people will take advantage of her.

Unclenching his fingers, Ehteshaam snapped at Ryan, "Alright, I'll agree with Han but if I see even one scratch on my sister, you are either going to hospital or jail. Consider it my last warning."

Ryan nodded and looked at Han. He didn't know if he was trying to play cupid but he admitted mentally that his plan is perfect. In that way he'll get to spend time with Akira and also try to be a better man for her. He'll make sure no one hurts her again.

"I'm going to bed. There are three bedrooms in this suite for the three of us so you either go to your beach house or stay on the couch."

"I'll prefer the couch. I don't want to go back there."

Akira glanced at him, leaning backwards on to the chair, feeling more cozy than ever. She didn't understand why he was so friendly all of the sudden. She took her time to eat but by then her brother and Han were already gone leaving her alone with Ryan who was setting the couch in a more comfortable way. Her heart ached watching him limping and occasionally grunting.

After she was done, she rushed in her room and grabbed the blanket.

"For you."

She handed it to Ryan who appeared to be in awe. He took it from her, intentionally grazing his fingers against her hand.

"Thank you."

Heat rushed to her cheeks. Not wanting to look into his eyes, she glared at his chest but then she questioned him, staring at him right in the eyes to prove that he didn't intimidate her anymore.

"Why are you doing this? You hated me Ryan. You actually made a video of me and laughed at my face. Is this your new ploy to embarrass me?"

Warm tears threaten to spill on her face reminiscing about the past events.

"No it's not maybe if I haven't delayed in expressing my feelings, things would have been very different. The moment I saw you, my whole world paused. The more I see you, the more I wanted to take you in my arms but you were always in love with him." A tint of sadness flashed through his eyes as he whispered the last part. "You wouldn't have accepted me."

Akira was confused as hell hearing him.

"Who are you talking about? I've never loved anyone. I've never fallen in love."

"Exactly but you have done worse things in the name of love but don't worry; I'm ready to let it go because I love you."

Akira found her staggered backwards in shock but Ryan was quick to hold her arm preventing her from falling. She didn't know what was more surprising; Ryan blaming her for things she didn't understand or confessing his love."
