I had walked away from Kevin after our debate at the lockers trying to figure out my plan of attack. What the hell was I gonna tell him? The truth definitely wasn't an option since I didn't even know it myself, how was I meant to handle this situation. I looked around as I sat in the library looking through my options which were slowly dwindling. I could give him an adaptation of the truth maybe? Oh god what was I gonna do?  Suddenly, I heard someone clear their throat and saw Kevin above me; oh lord.

"Come on Kenzie, you can tell me why you draw it?, you wanna be a member?" He asked out of curiosity and fear? Why did he have fear for me, I was a big girl.

"Look kevin, I don't know why I draw it. I just know it means something to me but I have no clue what." I said honestly or as close to honest as I could get. If he didn't believe that then I was screwed because I had nothing else. I looked down at my book and sighed, this was a part of me I hadn't shared with anyone other than Adeline.

"Wait?, seriously?" He asked as he slid down the bookcase and sat across from me, I simply nodded as an answer becuase that's the only answer I can give right now, I was losing time everyday. I had already missed eleven years of my families life and I couldn't loose anymore.
"Wow Kenzie, that's intense" he said simply before handing my drawing back to me, I smiled and placed it in my bag. Kevin was actually super sweet and I knew he meant well but I didn't see him as a pushy guy.

He was someone I could think of getting close to but right now, I need to keep my distance from everyone.

"The serpents, they're a gang of thugs. They sell drugs and cause nothing but trouble Kenzie; they aren't good people, they kill without remorse. They aren't people you wanna identity with" He said simply, he was actually explaining this to me?, that was so nice. No one had taken this time with me before to explain everything to me.

"Oh really?, isn't jughead a serpent?" I asked, I knew something like that had floated around the school with was intense since he was dating Betty or at least the last I heard he was?

"He's just added himself to the serpents best not bring it up to Betty, she's not doing well recently I'm not sure why" he said simply which made me super uncomfortable, we were welcoming them on Monday and I had a whole weekend to figure out how I was gonna show all these people around a school that I knew nothing about.

Wing it?

That seemed like an option I was happy with, stupid I know but in my line of work it's all planned out and nothing is ever just done out of the fun and the thrill, not that showing a gang of teenagers around of school is something that I find thrilling but it was something that I could just not plan for once.

"Archie's going over to the serpents 'housing' later for Betty, you could go with him if you want? Get a scope out of them?" He suggested which seemed like a brilliant idea.

"Sounds like a plan" I said with a smile, after those words Kevin took my phone and gave me Archie's number. I quickly got to work.

Me: Hey Archie, Kevin said you were taking a southside trip later. Need a friend? ~ McKenzie

I put my phone down next to me shortly after wondering how this would go if I went, I had never been to the southside or even had the drive to go. I worked on the border and never crossed over which was entertaining to me. I felt like it was an adventure like the ones I read on occasion.

Archie: Yeah sounds Great McKenzie, I'll meet you outside my house at like 5?

Me: sounds great, we'll take my ride. She's prefect

I typed and put my phone down a nodded to Kevin, he looked at me with shock as my face lit up, adventure was something I always craved and I could see this as my own adventure. Plus riding my bike was one of my favourite things so this was about to be fun.  I quickly got up and looked the clock, my final class was cancelled so I made my way out of school and to my bike, my bike was my baby.

I got on and made my way home, this was thrilling. I knew I needed to change since the air was changing and I didn't feel like being cold and making Archie hurry his conversation up, I past the sign that I often would read although I knew what it said but I knew today I didn't have a lot of time.

I hit the gas and went to my apartment, I quickly ran up the stairs, I changed into my pink floyd crop top and black jeans. I pulled my boots back on, slipped my leather jacket on and My beanie. I picked up my keys and phone and got out of my apartment and made my way downstairs and sat on my bike.

This would be good right?, I decided to text Archie and tell him I was on my way.

Me: On my way.

I put my phone in my jacket pocket, pulled my helmet on which was odd because of my beanie but I was use to it by now, I started up my engine and made my way out of my parking space and zoomed down the roads towards riverdale. I watched the scenery a little a lot of greens and yellows but I didn't pay a large amount of attention I was more focused on the ideas consuming my head.

What did the snake mean? And would I find out today or would I be forced to wait. Before I even knew it I was outside of Archie's and he was coming out of his house with a look of shock when he saw me on a bike which made me laugh before I gestured for him to get on the bike, once he had finally got on and stopped complaining I made my way towards southside by going the way I would To work.

Archie told me to stop outside a place called 'sunny side trailer park'.
