■ TWENTY-SIX ■
The door to Mekhi's room shot open and Richard fell inside. Sighing, Mekhi was about to snap at him when Richard slammed the door closed and started piling things against it.
"What's going on?" I asked, watching him confused.
"They found us, they're in the house" Richard snapped quickly just as something heavy pushed against the door.
Having pushed a dresser against the door, Richard backed up and Mekhi pulled me behind him. In that time, he'd pulled on a white loose shirt, fitting with his black leather jeans. "Richard, get her out of here" Mekhi hissed.
Richard shook his head. "We're surrounded, we won't get far," he replied.
The door thumped again and my hands reached up to grip Mekhi. We all backed into the corner. "Mekhi" I whispered.
He turned his head to look down at me, our eyes meeting. "I know, me too" he said, reading my thoughts.
The door wobbled again. "Celene, whatever happens, know that Richard and I will do everything within our power to get you out," he added as my eyes widened.
I looked up at him. "Don't get caught, go" I said quickly.
He shook his head. Reaching up, I grabbed Mekhi's face and pulled his mouth to mine, kissing the hell out of him.
"Go!" I ordered them.
The doors flew open and the dresser was pushed aside, my hair blowing out behind me as two wolves walked into the room. Footsteps echoed and Joshua walked into the room. "You're a very hard woman to find Celene" Josh said, glancing around the room.
"I'll take that as a compliment" I replied.
Joshua walked forward. "Where's the King? Surely, he wouldn't abandon you now" he said, as the wolves padded towards me.
"I wouldn't know, I don't hold the end of his leash," I replied.
Josh tilted his head. "I find that hard to believe," he replied.
"I believe you know the drill," he added.
Raising my hands, I glanced at the snarling wolves as I walked closer to Joshua. "Lead the way" I said.
Taking a hold of my hands, Josh pulled out a long thick length of rope and pressed my hands together before tying them up. I kept my eyes in his face. "Don't pretend you're not enjoying this" I muttered.
He smirked. "Who said I was pretending?" He asked.
I scowled at him as he grabbed my hands and pulled me from the room. I turned my head to look at the empty room. Hopefully, Richard and Mekhi knew how to track as well as werewolves.
Wolves waited outside the white house with a black car and tinted windows. "Father is most excited to meet you" Josh murmured in my ear before pushing me into the car.
"Great, is he the one that howls at the moon?" I asked, glaring as I sat up as much as I could while being bound.
"Something like that" Joshua replied, still smirking.
He climbed in and the car door slammed before the car took off, making me fall forward. I huffed and sat back up as Joshua studied me. "You should've heeded my warning, Celene" Joshua said.
"Everytime I get told not to do something, I end up doing it," I replied.
I glanced out the window but they were blackened out. "So what does your father want from me?" I asked, changing the subject
"We soon shall see, won't we?" Josh replied, sarcastically.
I sighed. "Well this is great" I muttered to myself.
Somewhere out there, I knew Mekhi and Richard would be searching for me. After delving into his past and seeing what had turned him cruel, I understood Mekhi on another level which had no turned to respect.
He'd been on this Earth for a very long time, and the only reason he was a vampire was because of a lonely woman. I watched silhouettes pass across the black windows as I thought to myself.
I had been so close to saying what I needed to say and even though he had read my thoughts, I know he wanted to hear me say it.For months, I had been hurt by him. I had wanted to escape and nearly managed, but some part of me still craved his attention. Mekhi had given up his crown and everything he worked centuries for, for me.
I stared at the ropes that bound my wrists. I was in love with Mekhi and not just some fleeting blink of the eye type love. But the kind that took my breath away everytime I looked into his eyes. The kind that made me wish I hadn't spent my life running, but searching.. for him.
I tore out of my thoughts as the car began to slow done. "We're here" Joshua pointed out.
Coming to a halt, I heard voices before the car door flung open. Gesturing to me, Joshua grabbed the rope and pulled me out of the car as he got out. I stumbled before shooting him a glare and straightening.
"So what is this hell hole?" I asked, turning my head to glance at Joshua.
"This is my home and I'd shut up before my father kills you," Joshua replied.
I glowered. "So is he your real dad or just the guy who bit you?" I asked curious.
"He's the man who took me in after I changed, not that it matters to you," Josh replied as two figures stepped out from under a doorway.
I blinked against the moonlight as a crowd followed them. "Father, I have brought you Celene Wright" Joshua said, pushing me forward.
I tripped and fell onto the dirt, coughing as my body itched with pain. "Well done, my child" a deep voice replied.
Slowly, I wiped the dirt from my face before getting to my knees and then standing back up. The mysterious man stepped forward into the light and I took a surprised step back.
"No" I said, mostly to myself.
"Hello Celene" the man said, eyeing me.
"Dad?" I choked out.

I told you, I'm evil.So what does this mean for Celene?
Is Celene as human as we thought? And how will this affect her relationship with Mekhi? The man who believes wolves and vampires cannot live in together in peace?
