It'd been about another three days and I still hadn't heard very much about my situation. I didn't know if was going home to never return, or if it was just going to be a warning. I'd hoped for the best, hoping Draco didn't become dramatic about what'd happened. Hoped he hadn't thrown me under the bus to his father.

Harry, Ron and I all stood around Hermione's hospital bed. "We need you more now than ever". Harry mumbled. I sighed, when would those stupid mandrakes be ready? Harry put his hand in Hermione's, slowly noticing and pulling out a small crumpled paper. "What's that?" I muttered. He uncrumpled it revealing a torn out library book page, I gasped. "A poor book". I mumbled, Harry rolling his eyes. I watched Harry's Expression, it looked as if he was calculating the secret formula; or the matrix.

"Ron. Y/n. This is it! This is the answer! The monster in the chamber! It's a basilisk- a giant serpent! That's why I've been hearing that voice all over the place, and nobody else has heard it. It's because I understand Parseltongue". Harry exclaimed. It suddenly all connected, it fit, it made sense. But, how did the chamber get opened? Was this supposed to be an accomplishment? Oh yay! We are going against up a giant snake.. "I would love to hear more about this, I really would, but I think it's enough for tonight for me guys". I stuttered, I was not going up against a giant snake. I shuddered. I shakily walked away, hearing faint calls of them telling me to please come back. I headed to Severus's classroom, just to hang out and take a break. That was a lot, I hardly know what a basilisk looks like! Probably horrorific. "Oh, Y/n. How unexpected, out of your Common room? It's 7:43". He stated as I stepped in. I shrugged and walked to his desk happily. "Harry was just- I mean. He's back in his dorm, I'm out on my own". I stuttered, Severus stood up giving me a disbelieving look. "Harry was just what?" He asked, knowingly, setting his jaw staring at me. "Checking on Hermione, he r.. really misses her". I mumbled just loud enough for him to hear. He huffed and let it go, he probably knew I didn't like ratting out my friends. I pulled up my usual chair and sat by his big leather chair. "So Severus, I like the rose you gave me". I smiled at him making small talk. He sat down crossing his arms looking away, in a shy manner. He looked oddly bashful. Never seen my Professor shy before.. "And?" He questioned, acting like it was nothing. He looked like he hardly wanted to talk about it, or wven hear about it. I laughed a little.

"So where'd you get such a nice flower? Did you paint it? Smells awfully nice for pai-"

"No, no I didn't paint it, It's natural". He looked at his nails suddenly interested in them. He turned his head to not look my direction. But it's black—"

"It's a spell, the Half-Blood Prince made it". He mumbled. I tilted my head towards the front of him, climbing onto his desk a little, trying to get him to look me in the eye. "Are you alright?" I asked, he breathed deep and finally looked at me. He gave me a small faint smile, saying;

"I don't want you to get-- "

"All students are to return to their dormitory at once, all teachers to the second corridor immediately!"

Mcgonagoll shouted onto the monitors, her voice ringing down the halls and in the classrooms. I looked at Snape, who then looked at me. He must've knew what I was going to already say. "No". He sternly said, standing up. I sighed, and pleaded; "Please can I come? Can't I?"

"No, go to your dorm, now". He said lastly, trying to convince me he was dead serious. He sped out of his classroom, which I gingerly followed after him; ignoring anything he said before.

He only scoffed at me, which I was okay with, it meant I could come, he was just bothered by it. I put my hands together attempting to keep up, as we got to the second hall corridor, Filch glared at me. "GET TO YOUR-!"

"It's fine Argus.. she's with me, she's serving detention". Severus interrupted Filch's screech, defending me. Filch eyed him suspiciously but kept quiet. McGonagall caught up, everyone dismissing my presence. I noted that not a single Gilderoy Lockhart was to be seen. Was he eaten perhaps by the basilisk? That'd be a miracle.
