Chapter 27: 'the picture'

{2 Months later}

Everything went back to normal... Well not everything. Emily still has nightmares when she screams and can't wake up, Aaron is worried about her because he loves her since he admitted his feelings for her. Emily has moved In with Aaron as he wanted to be close to her, but most of all he wanted to be with her everyday, and wake up to her beautiful face every morning. Also Emily was finally back to work, as she couldn't go to work in the field since she froze when she got a gun pointed at her. No one really spoke about that moment because they don't want to down grade Emily. She was good at her job, it was just because of everything that she has been through, she had to sit out on a rape case but Emily knew deep down that she couldn't sit out on every rape case this could effect her job. She just has to face it, but this rape case she just couldn't do it. She walked in the round table room and saw what was on the screen and ran back out again. Everyone knew so they let her sit this case out. She felt so weak and uncapable of things.

She went back to her and Aaron's apartment and got changed and went to the gym. She was there for over an hour and pulled something in her leg. She didn't think anything of it and worked even harder, she started to feel the pain and then stopped because she knew the consequences. Because Aaron had to travel to New York for the rape case Emily had to go pick up Jack from school. She didn't mind she loved jack, and he loved her.

The BAU team were on the plane on their way to New York. Everyone was back to normal even Garcia, but she still visited Emily 3 times every week bringing her gifts and apologising every time she sees her. Emily had finally forgiven Garcia it was hard at first but she had to realise that Garcia wasn't the one that hurt her. She didn't ask James to do it, she was just deeply in love.

"Hotch how's Emily doing?" Morgan asked.

"She's... She's fine it's just sometimes she has these nightmares where she screams and it's really hard for me to wake her up. The cases are going to hit her hard because of things that have happened, but I know she will get over it" hotch said telling the whole truth.

"Well that's good that she's getting better but the nightmares will eventually stop" Morgan said.

Since what happened and how Emily had to lie to save everyone that she loved, everyone tells the truth no matter how bad it is. I mean you can have some secrets but if it's life threatening you share, because they nearly lost Aaron and emily and they couldn't do it over again. There we a team, a family and even if one family member was gone it would never be the same again.

Emily arrived at jacks school. She waited in the car until he walked out down them 7 concrete steps. She waited 5 minuets and checked her phone to see if she had any messages from Aaron. She had 2...

She smiled at both text messages and replied back.

As soon as she hit the last send button she saw jack walking out of school. She unbuckled her seat belt and got out of the car.

"Jack" emily said as she smiled.

"Emmmyyyy" jack shouted as he ran up to her and gave her a massive hug.

They both got into the car and put their seat belts on and drove back home.

"How was you day?" Emily asked.

"It was good, we done painting and I made a picture for you" jack said with a smile.

"That's really good jack. Are you a secret artist?" Emily said as she chuckled.

Emily glanced at the picture jack made. It was jack, Aaron and her standing by a house. They all had there names under each person and under Emily's was 'Emily/mum'.

She didn't know if she would like to replace Haley. Haley is his real mum and she can never be that.

She wasn't angry or upset she was just at that confused, don't know what to do stage. But she loved the fact that jack had accepted her In the family.
