Beeps of the machines is all Jacob heard. He stared at the bag that contained pain medicine in it. He counted the drops without even blinking.
He sighed grabbing Chresanto's hand. Currently, Chresanto was in his lap holding onto him tightly. As if he will disappear if he let go.
Jacob kissed his forehead closing his eyes.

The lunch room was loud with teenagers. It smelled of pizza and chicken nuggets. Today it was more crowded than usual, because A lunch and B lunch were combined for the pep rally.
Myles, Meisha, Nique and Bahja sat at their usual table sadly. Everyone else was at the hospital with Chresanto. Rachel made them go to school since they had exams. They had to wait until after school.
"I miss Chresanto." Bahja huffed.
"I miss Trevie and Jacob." Meisha pouted.
"I actually miss Ray..." Nique shook her head.
"I miss Ej." Myles laid his head on the table.

Myles rolled his eyes. "I only miss him because he buys me food."
