So Young, Yet so Mad.

"Where are we going?" Lilah asked, they were nowhere near her cell anymore, in fact, she was certain they had walked straight passed the cell block altogether.

"My office." Jeremiah Arkham answered in a relaxed tone of voice, not looking over his shoulder to address her. Lilah was uneasy, but was silent anyway- Jeremiah Arkham was the guy whose signature you needed to get out of this hell hole. Without it, you were stuck here for life. It wasn't an absolutely horrid place, the hallways and cells were cleaned daily and the patients were allowed to be out of the cells (That was, unless a patient had their privileges taken from them. Which was most of them.) But, even then, patients were monitored 100% of the time. Nope... it really is hell. Lilah sighed, she couldn't even sugarcoat it. Not even Jonathan was a good enough excuse for her to be in Arkham Asylum. She wanted out. And she wanted out now.

"Don't make me get Mr. Fuzzy Pants to pop a cap in your ass!" A strange voice that sounded like it belonged to a child echoed through the hallways. Lilah had never actually heard anyone speak the way the voice did, except of course on T.V. Looking around, Lilah glanced at Jeremiah who seemed unfazed by the rather annoyed voice that echoed through the hallways. Keeping her eyes on Jeremiah, Lilah very subtly sped up, hoping to catch even a glimpse of the owner of the voice. Surely there aren't children in this place... She thought to herself as she continued to speed up until she was on par with Jeremiah, of whom raised his eyebrow at her,

"What has you so eager?" Jeremiah smirked. Looking across at him, Lilah forced an innocent smile before she shrugged,

"I think it would be interesting to meet some of the other inmates." Lilah replied. Jeremiah watched her with a mixture of suspicion and curiosity on his face, he knew what she was trying to do. It didn't take an Edward Nigma to work that one out. But if there was a child in the asylum, Lilah believed it was her duty to protect said child from all harm that could be met within the walls of the hell they were both apart of. Or perhaps it was only her Motherly instincts that were kicking in.

"Ra-Ra's gonnna killllll you." The voice sang once more in a high pitched tone that highly suggested that the voice belonged to that of a young girl. Ra Ra? Lilah frowned softly at the name, Could that be Ra's al Ghul? No. He was far too smart to allow anyone who knew of him to throw his name around so carelessly. As Lilah and Jeremiah walked further down the hallway, the girl's voice only grew louder, yelling out other things that were mostly about 'Mr. Fuzzy Pants', 'Ra-Ra' and a 'Big Chrissy' that had sworn to come back for her and would be very angry at them for being mean.

"Who is that?" Lilah finally forced herself to ask with a slight frown, as Jeremiah smirked,

"You honestly don't think that an asylum would be filled with mentally unstable people?" He asked with sarcasm that made Lilah feel stupid, "Here, we have people like Jervis Tech, a nut who thinks he's the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, Maxie Zeus, Victor Zsasz and, my personal favourite Waylon Jones. You may have heard of him." Lilah swallowed, that she had, according to the rumours, Waylon Jones had a skin condition that caused his flesh to warp into some sort of scale like skin that was quite similar to that of a crocodiles. Hence the name many called him: Killer Croc. "And now we have Phobia and Scarecrow to add to our little...party." Lilah frowned,

"Scarecrow?" She asked, she had heard Jonathan muttering the name but surely Jeremiah had not-

"Yes, my staff and I have started to refer to Crane as 'Scarecrow'. He seemed to prefer the name." Jeremiah explained smugly. Ignoring the doctor, Lilah still was interested in the young girl that was locked in Arkham with men like Zsasz and Croc.

"And who is the child?" She asked, in a way, her motherly instincts were only growing stronger by the second. Jeremiah smirked,

"Nina Pierce." He answered, "And as a matter of fact, she's thirteen years old and more skilled with explosives that all of these so called criminals in this joint." Lilah was silent for only a moment as they entered Jeremiah's clean and tidy office, the girl, Nina was still nowhere in sight,

"What happened to her?" Lilah asked, taking a seat across from Jeremiah who picked up a pen and clipboard, "Why is she... like that?"

"The usual: parents were tortured and killed in front of her at a young age, leaving her alone and left to fend for herself." Lilah glared at the way Jeremiah spoke as if it meant nothing at all, "Gordon found her, she had explosives rigged underneath Blackgate prision. According to him, she was certain that her parent's killer was in there."

"Was he?" Lilah asked. Jeremiah's eyes flicked up to meet hers,

"You seem awfully concerned about the well-being of this girl. Perhaps you wish to take her under your wing and provide care and love for her in the way you were unable to do so for your own daughter." Lilah shifted slightly, raising her eyebrows,

"Perhaps you should answer the question so we can get on with this conversation. I'm sure your plan was to get me to talk about all the sad things in my life that have driven me to a life of crime." She snapped bitterly. He was right in what he said. They both knew it- she was a terrible woman who was unworthy of the term 'mother' and now, all of a sudden, Lilah had a desire to run out of the room and embrace a child she had never met. Clearing his throat, Jeremiah looked back down at his clipboard,

"Her parent's were killed by Victor Zsasz."

A/N: I want to bring out the motherly side to Lilah a little more. So expect the next couple of chapters to be about Jonathan, Nina, Raleigh and Jeremiah.
