Lost Girl (Voltron Fanfic)

-Natasha-

I look at Shiro as he is walking out of the shack. I slide off of the bed that Keith had me use and follow him.

"Shiro?" I ask

"Nat, you should still be asleep," Shiro says

"I haven't slept in a while. I'm used to running off of days of no sleep." I say, wrapping my arms around myself

"Why haven't you been sleeping?" He asks, looking at me

"The nightmares only got worse." I start

"Nightmares?" He starts

"The same ones I suffered from when we were little," I explain

"And I wasn't there to help you." He says, looking at the ground "It's a good thing you had Keith and the Holts."

I sigh as I look out towards the sky when I decide to look into the shack's window and see Keith asleep on the floor next to the bed.

"I pushed them away. I wanted to be alone." I start

"So you had nobody to help you when the nightmares got worse?" He asks

"I did that to myself," I say

"What made you push them away?" He says, setting his hand on my shoulder, making me look at him

"The nightmares kept showing their end. I couldn't see a way to save them, except to just push them away." I explain

He looks at me then pulls me into another hug, setting his head on top of mine.

"I never should've left on the mission." He says

"You were looking forward to it. You can't let what happened change how you feel about it." I say

"But if I had never left, you wouldn't have had to deal with them alone." He says

Alone...

"Shiro!" I yell as I wake up from another nightmare

I look around my room when I hear no running footsteps like I would when my brother comes to help me.

Right... he's gone... Keith isn't coming... I'm completely alone...

I feel the tears as they come to my eyes as I curl into a ball and attempt to go back to sleep.

I look out towards the sky again when I see Shiro rub his good hand over his new arm.

"How bad did your arm get out there?" I ask

"I-I don't remember." He says as he brings the other arm up to let me have a good look at

"Well, this new arm sure has some interesting tech in it. It isn't anything that is here on Earth." I start

"I know it's not from Earth. I just don't know where it's from." He says

I nod as I let go of it and look back towards where the others are.
