Twenty-Eight

-Keith-

I look at the giant worm as Hunk and I start to leave, heading back towards where we last left the ship, waiting for the call to come in.

"How do you think Nat's meeting went with the Blade?" Hunk asks

"I don't know. I would think she would've called by now." I start "She's probably learning about her mom, the things that her mom was able to do."

"You're worried?" Hunk asks

"Of course I am, but I can't do anything. She's strong, even stronger with that arm thanks to you and Pidge." I say "She's..."

"Your girlfriend?" Hunk laughs "Keith, you two don't need to hide it. We're all going to support you guys."

I look at him before smiling, looking out towards the sky.

"Keith, Hunk, are you guys there?" Allura calls out as her screen pops up

"We're on our way back." Hunk says "What's up, Princess?"

"The Balmera, the lizard creature, it's somehow back." She says

"We'll be right there!" I say

"Allura, is there anything on Nat?" Hunk asks

Allura looks in between us before shaking her head.

"No, she must still be preparing with the Blade. That has to explain this." Allura says before looking away

I look at her before slowly nodding my head.

"Something's not right," I whisper

I look at Allura as she keeps her eyes towards the ground.

"I'm going to check on the other three," Allura says

I watch as her screen shuts down before looking at Hunk.

"Something is definitely not right." Hunk says "She was avoiding your eye contact more than she usually does."

I sigh before taking my helmet off, running my hands through my hair.

"I need to get ahold of Nat," I say

Hunk looks at me before he nods.

-Pidge-

I look around as Lance flies us out, Slav, poking his head out every so often.

"Shiro has there been any word on your sister?" I ask

"Nothing." Shiro says "Something was up with her before we left."

"It was almost as if she was saying goodbye." Lance starts

"I got the same feeling." I start "But I didn't want to say anything just in case."

"Yeah, I'm going to try to reach out to her," Shiro says before walking towards the back of the lion

"Paladins!" Allura's voice rings out "We need you back at the Balmera."

"What's going on, Princess?" Shiro asks

"The lizard, it's back!" Allura yells

"We're on our way!" Lance says

"Alright, Nat will have to wait..." Shiro says

"We'll be meeting up with the Blade soon, she should be there," I say

I look at Shiro as he keeps his hands clasped against the back of Lance's seat.

"We'll find them," I say

"I just don't know where she could've gone." Shiro whispers "She was supposed to learn about our mom."

"Things could've gotten out of hand and she attacked them." I suggest "We know her anger can be a bit rough."

"Guys, you might want to have a look outside!" Lance yells

"You guys need to get to your lions as soon as you can!" Allura yells

-Keith-

I look towards the lizard as it shoots towards us.

"Hunk, cover us while we go get our lions!" Shiro instructs

"On it!" Hunk says as he starts to shoot at the lizard

I grab onto the back of his seat, looking at the lizard, studying it.

"I don't know how we're going to get past those crystals." I start "He's using them as a shield."

"Hunk, get Keith to the castle, we need Voltron!" Lance yells

I feel Hunk turn his lion around, heading towards the castle.

"Watch out!" Pidge yells

I feel something hit the Yellow Lion from behind as we go flying a different direction.

"If we can get enough cover, I can fly to the castle and get my lion." I hiss through the comms

"What? Are you crazy?" Hunk starts "You can't fly out there without any cover!"

"As long as somebody covers me, I'll be fine!" I yell

I climb out of the top of the Yellow Lion before shooting off towards the castle.

-Pidge-

I fly around the machine before shooting at it as we spin in a circle.

"We need Voltron!" Hunk yells

"The thing is that we can't without Keith!" Lance yells

"Keith where are you?!" I say

"I'm right here!" Keith says as the Red Lion shoots out towards us

"Alright, guys here's the plan." Shiro starts before he starts to explain

We all agree before we put it into action.

I watch as the lizard explodes before we separate, heading back towards the castle.

"Alright, Shiro, Keith, which one is going to reach out to Nat?" I ask "I know it's on both of your minds."

"That won't be needed," Allura says

"What?" Keith asks

"Just meet in the control room, we'll explain everything when you get here," Allura says

I shake my head before hurrying out of my lion, running towards the control room.

"What is going on with Nat? I haven't been able to reach her!" Keith says

I look around to see Kolivan and one other standing next to Allura as they shake their heads.

"Zov didn't tell you?" Kolivan asks

"Tell us what?" Hunk asks "All he wanted to do was talk to Natasha."

"He thought it might be a good idea to send Ragna to confront Zarkon alone, create a distraction for us to get there," Kolivan says

"You agreed to that?" Keith yells

"I did not personally." Kolivan says "They came up with this plan with another leader. Zov brought the idea to her before they could bring it through me."

I watch as Keith hits the chair next to him.

"He didn't think about tell her team?" Keith starts "That can get her killed!"

"Keith, calm down, I want you to go and try to get a hold of Nat." Shiro says

I watch as Keith storms out of the room, heading towards his lion.

"Shiro, could that have really been her goodbye?" I whisper

"I don't know Pidge. I hope not." Shiro says as he watches Kolivan talking to Allura
