After crying my eyes out to Shiki, we walked back into the village and headed to Shiki's house. He explained that it wasn't safe to go back home as the vampires may look for me there.

And so here we are...

"There! All done~" Shiki came out the kitchen with bandages practically drowning him.

"I knew you should have just let me do it..." I mumbled, seeing the mess he'd made.

"Well, I don't usually get so messed up," Shiki shrugged, making his way over to the sofa where I sat.

"You went up against a load of vampires. What else were you honestly expecting?" I questioned as he came and sat down by me.

"Well, I could've come out without a scratch... but that would've just been a waste," he smiled.

My eyebrows curved down as I looked away in pity.

"... I see... Shiki, can I ask... to you, what is pain?" I mumbled, desiring to know if I was right with my assumptions.

He returned a confused expression.

"What is pain? ... Hm... well, a feeling," he answered.

"... and you don't feel other things as much? Like pleasure or... joy...?" I wondered.

"... not so much anymore..." he admitted.

Seeing his dropped gaze, I held back from asking more...

My face also darkened to his words.

He looked up at me in surprisement to my question.

"Umm..." he looked away, unsure of how to answer.

"... I... don't know," he replied, feeling his heartbeats quicken from nervousness.

(Shiki's thoughts) is... that what this feeling is...?

"I see... erm! Well, anyway! So... how long do you think I'll need to stay here until it's safe to go home?" I wondered.

"Never!" Shiki quickly replied.

"Erm... wut?"

"Ah! Err, I mean..... well, you definitely can't go home tonight, at least," Shiki reworded, trying not to let other.... 'body parts' speak.

"S-so..! I'll be here... alone with you... all night...??!!!" my face darkened in great embarrassment.

"Yep! Isn't it just so exciting?? All the things we could do! Hehe~" Shiki grinned a rather evil smirk.

"All the things we-!!! WHAT THINGS?!!" I squealed.
