"Relax lang. Relax." Nakasakay ng kotse sila Mizzy at Lee and former noticed her friend clutching the sides of her thighs. Kahit matagal din silang hindi nagkita, she knew that since high school, this has been a great indicator that Lee is beyond stressed.
"I just need to look for Julius Javier and beg him to meet with my boss. 'Yun lang. After that, I can go."
"Wow friend. Iiwan mo ako doon."
Lee just gave Mizzy an apologetic look.
"Sabi mo nga, hindi naman dadating doon si Odyssey. Kaya magrelax ka na. You can do this. Stop fidgeting. Baka mabutas 'yang dress mo diyan sa tagiliran kakakutkot mo."
Lee looked at her hand. She didn't realize she was being fidgety. Hindi lang din naman kasi si Odi ang inaalala niya. Bukod kay Mizzy, wala namang nakakaalam na sa loob ng taon-taong reunion, iba ang pinagdadaanan niya at hindi lang siya basta MIA dahil ayaw niya. Kahit na kalmado na siya ngayon in general as a person, kumpara noon that she's wearing her heart on her sleeves at lahat ng emosyon, wala siyang maitago, 'di pa rin niya maiwasang kabahan on the thought that she'll be facing everyone she left. Everyone who has been a big part of her life before.
Iniisip niya na lang na sana hindi siya mamukhaan ng mga ito hanggang sa makarating siya kay Julius Javier.
"Parang mas pumayat ka pa ngayon, Lee. Mas lumuwag pa 'yang maxi mo." Mizzy is eyeing on the flowiness of Lee's dress.
"H-hindi naman..."
"Basta huwag ka lang magpapaabot ng buto levels ah. That's okay na with you. Modelin ang datingan."
"Ikaw talaga." Lee gave a faint smile.
Lalo lang tuloy nalungkot si Mizzy. Kung dati nangyari ito, their conversation will lead into a great repartee. Lee is funny and fun. She's wise and knows how not to make a dull moment. Paano ba naman nito natunaw ang pusong yelo ni Odyssey dati kung wala itong ganoong kakayahan.
Pero iba na talaga ngayon.
If she doesn't nod, she'll just give short answers. Hindi mapigilan, niyakap bigla ni Mizzy si Lee na ikinagulat maging ng driver niya. She also wasn't this clingy. But she thinks her friend needs all the hug and love in world.
"Miz?"
"Basta, Lee. I will always be here for you. Kung hindi mo makuha 'yang si Julius at tinotoo niyang gago mong boss na tatanggalin ka niya, ako na bubuhay sa'yo. Jusko papatabain kita. Kaya kitang buhayin Lee. Jusko." Mizzy said with tears in her eyes.
"I'll do my best..."
"And if you succeed, you promise you'll never leave Manila again?"
