"Girlfriend niyo, sir?" Ani ng pakielamerong driver which he shot a deathly glance.
"Nag-away kayo?" Ulit pa nito na parang hindi naramdaman ang iritasyon niya.
"S-sensya na sir, ayaw ko namang mag-sakay ng stalker." Ani ulit nang taxi driver nang tuluyan nang maging bakas ang galit sa mukha ni Odi.
Doon lang niya pinakawalan ang malalim na hiningang kanina pa niya kinikimkim.
Oo nga naman. Now, he wasn't rationale enough to realize that he actually seem like a stalker trailing two ladies.
Pero hindi niya rin maintindihan sa taxi driver kung bakit din ito itinanong ng diretso sa kanya. Paano kung totoong stalker nga siya. Wouldn't it defeat the purpose?
"Girlfriend ko nga 'yan. And that's her bestfriend. At oo, nag-away kami. i just want to make sure she gets home safely. Sige na. Mag-drive ka na. But keep your distance."
All he can do is lie. But he realized... wala naman siyang sinabing kasinungalingan. If a formal break-up culminates a relationship, masasabi niyang girlfriend niya pa rin si Lee. A painful snort came out of his mouth. Para talaga siyang tanga.
It was obvious that he wasn't the one she looking for at the reunion.
Unlike the countless reunions that he actually pined for her to come kahit alam niya namang hindi ito dadating.
In Lee's case, sa pagtapak niya pa lang doon— pagkakita pa lang niya, it was very obvious that she was tailing Julius Javier. Her weak appearance didn't change the drive in her eyes that was in her since he first saw her in high school. The same tenacity in her eyes that allowed him to brood over the fact that she will never cease chasing him— hanggang sa masanay siya. Kaya noong nawala, his initial reaction was to refusal. Dahil mali pala 'yung nakita niya sa mga mata nito. And then it became shame. Because Odi felt like he was just like the other textbook douche males. 'Yung nakikita lang 'yung halaga ng isang bagay kapag wala na. At nahihiya siya. This very shame turned into anger that was actually towards himself. That he realized his feelings far too late, but it was projected to her because that very anger was mixed with foreign feelings of jealousy. Plus his pride.
But how could he tell her that time? Alam ni Odi na hindi rin naman maganda ang ugali niya. Isn't this hsi primary reason of disbelief the first time Lee expressed her feelings for him?
The more he brood over his feelings, the more unworthy he think he is. At para sa iba, parang madali lang ang lahat, at ano pa bang pinagaarte niya? But they didn't realize that Odyssey was too mature for his age. He was already thinking about the consequences of his every actions bago pa man niya mamalayan. Pinagtibay siya ng panahon sa dami ng pinagdadaanan niya to raise himself and his brother. Para sa mga normal na kaedad niya noon, everything is easy. Everybody can date who they want anytime, anywhere.
