"Aray!" Pinipigilang sumigaw ni Eliseo habang hinihila ni Mizzy ang patilya niya pataas. "Anong problema mo?!"
Lumayo si Eli trying to ward his friend's hands off.
"Sinabi ko 4pm diba? 5pm na ah pero ikaw lang ang nandito?"
"Wait lang 'di ba? Nagtext naman ako that doc is running late. Basahin mo kaya cellphone mo!"
"Natanggap ko!"
"Buti nga pumayag makipag kita sa'yo."
"Wow ha." Lalapit ulit si Mizzy kay Eli pero mabilis nitong tatakpan ang dalawang patilya.
"Para kang bata!"
"Eh ikaw, feeling ka! Feeling pro? Napa-sama ka lang sa clique nila Doc Odi at Dani, nag-iba ka na. Dati lang tumutulo laway mo sa desk natin."
"Kelan nangyari 'yon?!" Pagtanggi ni Eli.
Lalapit na naman si Mizzy para sa patilya niya nang biglang nakita na nilang papasok si Odyssey sa restaurant kasama ang kapatid nitong si Perci.
At saka lamang nagbalik sa katinuan ang dalawa. Alam nilang hindi na sila bata. They are already young professionals in their respective fields. Mataas na ang posisyon ni Mizelea sa kumpanya nila, habang partner naman at may-ari ng isang start-up company si Eli. Pero siguro, the ultimate thing that reminded them to act their age is Odyssey's grace.
Even though he's young, you can really feel some sense of dominion in the way he strides, the way he unbutton his suit as he prepares to sit. Maybe it was his degrees? Or his mastery on a lot of aspects in life. But his mere presence is enough to keep Mizzy and Eli behaved. That their high school selves are already far behind them.
"Doc." Bati ni Mizzy nang tuluyan ng makaupo si Odi sa upuan sa tapat niya. Hindi niya alam na kasama isasama pala nito ang kapatid na si Perci na umupo naman sa upuan sa harap ni Eliseo.
"Mizzy." Odyssey acknowledged her presence. Tumango lang ito kay Eli.
"Order ka muna."
"Kape lang." Odi decides as he nudged his younger brother's arm. Panay ang kalikot nito sa cellphone. "Kumain ka muna."
Napangiti si Mizzy dahil katulad pa rin ng dati, Odyssey is still Perci's momma. Even though a lot has changed — his guise and stance, his way of life— but nobody can't deny that he's still that doting brother.
Mabilis din namang pinalis ni Mizelea ang ngiti. Because she's not here to be a spectator of a brother's story. She came here to confront.
Ano ba naman ang nangyari last week? Didn't she receive a call from Danielle na hindi niya naman alam na may numero pala niya, asking to look out for Lee? When she asked what happened, wala nang iba pang nabanggit si Dani.
