"Moni...come on" Kaleb yelled as he tried to pick Kemoni up but she didn't want him to. She started slapping her hands on him and frowned up her face until he finally backed away
"KEMONI NO!" I fussed at her, causing the both of them to look at me. My momma walked up beside me and let out a laugh
"I can only imagine how they'll act when they get older"
I looked at her and made a noise "terrible. Cause that's what they are now."
"I blame you and Dana. That's exactly how y'all used to act when y'all were little"
I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes while laughing some
"Kemoni don't act like me. She acts like her daddy..... she look just like him too" I watched her while she held an attitude on her face while she walked off and fell a little bit but got up and went over to Dana
"You talk to him yet?"
I shook my head and she placed her hands on her hips "What in the hell are you waiting on Noel?"
"Ma stuffs just complicated"
"It's not complicated. Babygirl you just being hardheaded. Now I tried to stay out of this for the past few months but y'all stressing me out dammit! Kentrell misses you, you miss him. Y'all both look miserable without each other. He came to the house the other day and he looked bad Noel"
I turned my head, sighing and she grabbed my face making me look at her
"I want you to listen to me when I say this. You better go talk to him Noel Ayana Brooks. I raised you better than this. I know you was hurt but you gotta get over it and talk to this boy. Y'all have been together too damn long to let somebody else's stupid decision break y'all up like this"
I just looked at her, not being able to move my head because her grip on my face was tight
"I hear you"
"Yeah you hear me... but are you listening!?"
I nodded and she let go of my face
"Way my son at?" I could hear Ben's voice yell causing me to turn around
"Oh lord" my momma mumbled and Ben walked out to the back yard with Bryson behind him. Once he saw me, he smiled and walked over to where I stood
"Noellll! Best friend!"
I softly smiled as he stretched his arms out for a hug. I walked into his arms and he hugged me tight
"Hey Ben"
"Now I can really say this and mean it... I ain see you in months"
I nodded and crossed my arms over my chest "I know... it's been a while"
