"Maaa!" Nasir yelled while he walked over to me reaching out a cookie that was bitten off of
"you gone be hyper all night papas"
I grabbed the cookie from him and he went walking off to where Kemoni was with kaleb playing. I sat the cookie down and when I saw Nasir cock his arm back as he grew closer to Kemoni, I hurried over to him and scooped him up
"Stop being so mean!"
"No" he laughed and I put him on my hip as the door to my momma's house opened. Kentrell walked in and Kemoni jumped up, running over to him
"Whatchu got on yo face?" Kentrell asked while picking her up and she started smiling
"Probably chocolate" I explained and he shook his head
Every since this kaniyah girl showed up things have been getting a little tense between Kentrell and I for some reason so we pretty much try to stay out of each other's way to avoid an argument.
"Daddy! I-I want candy"
"No you ain eatin nomo candy" Kentrell told her. Nasir wiggled his way off of my hip so I put him down and he walked in the kitchen where my mom and everybody else was.
"Come on Moni!" Kaleb motioned for Kemoni to get down and come with him so Kentrell put her down and she followed him down the hall to the toy room momma and Derek had for them downstairs
Once they were gone it was just Kentrell and I in the living room. I grabbed the cookie Nasir handed to me, getting ready to throw it in the trash but Kentrell stopped me
"You Ight?"
"Yeah. I'm fine. Did you hear anything back about the test yet?"
"Nah..."
I nodded and my momma walked into the living room holding Nasir
"Kentrell. Hey baby" she greeted him with a hug then looked at me
"Where Kemoni and Kaleb?"
"They went in the room"
"Probably making a mess" she sighed
"Noel" Elena called my name while she walked into the living room "here hold kenni real quick"
Before I could say anything she gave me Kennedi and went outside
"Where she going?"
Momma shrugged "Kd probably outside"
"I swear they act like they in high school all over again"
Kennedi reached and grabbed my face while smiling and I laughed
"Kenni stay this size forever... I wish Kemoni and Nasir could go back to being this little"
"Well the only option y'all got to getting a baby close to that size is to have another one" momma told me and I frowned while Kentrell shook his head
"Hell no"
"What? I thought y'all wanted a lotta kids?"
"I never said that" I defended myself "Kemoni was enough for me but I miraculously popped up pregnant again"
"Well Kentrell didn't you want more?"
" these two is more than enough now. Ion think I want nomo"
"Well don't forget you might have a third one.. have y'all heard anything back about that yet?"
Kentrell shook his head and Nasir looked at me, frowning when he saw Kennedi in my arms
"I would've thought we would've heard something by now but I guess not"
My momma sighed "well y'all just keep doing y'all. Don't let this little speed bump get in the way. But just in case, y'all need to talk about what's gonna happen so y'all can be prepared"
"I don't wanna get too involved cause-"
"Forget what that damn girl said Noel! Seriously! I'm sorry but you gotta ignore her. You need to get involved just as much as Kentrell is because it's no longer Kentrell, it became Kentrell AND Noel the minute y'all signed them papers and if she don't like it oh well! Any decision affects you too and whatever happens will involve you so if she don't wantchu apart of it then she'll be ALRIGHT! Should've stayed wherever she was"
I wiped some drool off of Kennedi's chin feeling Kentrell look at me. Instead of looking back at him I just turned my full attention onto Kennedi, smelling her dirty diaper
"Uh oh. Aunties baby need her diaper changed" I walked off to find her bag leaving them alone

Christmas Day

"Siir! Siir LOOK" Kemoni yelled as she played around in the ball-pit they had gotten for Christmas.
I sat on the arm of the chair watching them play while Kentrell was busy helping Nasir with a toy. I woke up with a little cold so I wasn't really feeling it today, however it was Christmas.
While Kentrell tried to put the toy together for our son, he walked over to the little ball-pit and grabbed a ball which pissed Kemoni off
"STOPPPPP" she started to cry making Kentrell look up. Nasir stopped in his tracks and looked at Kemoni before continuing his path over to me.
"You gone stop making my baby cry" Kentrell told Nasir and I laughed, putting the ball back. He scooped Nasir up, causing him to laugh. I watched carefully with a smile, admiring Kentrell and Nasir bond. The way Kentrell smiled at him, the way Nasir laughed and grabbed his face. It was all so priceless
"I wish my grandma was here to see this right now" I blurted out causing Kentrell to look at me
"I ain lyin" he muttered before sitting down and Nasir slid off of his lap, going over to a toy and brought it back to Kentrell
"Da!"
"Nigga don't yell at me" Kentrell responded back and Nasir laughed
I shook my head "that boy acts just like you"
"His bad ass..."
"Yeah. We need to cut bad ass' hair and get his ears pierced. We keep stalling"
Kentrell touched on Nasir's hair "we ain stallin. A lotta shit just came up but we gone get to it tomorrow. Ain it?" He asked Nasir. Nasir climbed up on Kentrell's lap and sat down with the toy in hand and somebody knocked on the door
"I got it" I huffed while standing up and Kentrell stopped me
"You'on feel good. Go sitcho ass down"
"Kentrell" I laughed "I got it"
I walked over to the door but he still followed behind me like I was helpless or something. When I opened the door my whole mood dropped seeing kaniyah there. I rolled my eyes and she laughed a little
"Is my babydaddy here?"
I sighed "kaniyah..."
"What? I'm just here to pass on the good news" she smiled and Kentrell opened the door wider, looking at kaniyah some type of way. I noticed he wasn't holding Nasir anymore
"What?"
"I got the test results back two days ago and guess what? It looks like Karter does have a father... congratulations Kentrell" she boasted while holding up a paper.
I froze and Kentrell snatched the paper from her, looking at it.
"Fuck" he cursed himself and me and kaniyah just looked at each other. The smirk she wore on her face, I really wanted to slap it off but I didn't
"Now like I said before.." she started talking again "OUR son is perfectly fine without you being around him. All I need is those checks so I guess I'll see you in court"
She then walked off and I finally looked at Kentrell, who was still looking at the paper. Once he finally looked up at me I laughed a little before walking off, going into the room feeling my eyes start to water up
