Rue Bennett- " I fucking love you"

I sat in the couch with my red plastic cup in my hand as I watched everyone around me partying. I hated parties. I didn't see the point of all this. The only reason I was here was to make sure that Rue was okay. She was the only person in the god forsaken town that I even cared for. If I'm being honest I'm a hundred percent sure I'm completely in love with her. I don't know if she felt the same way about me, I hoped she did but I knew at this point in time she didn't need a relationship. She needed to focus on herself. Rue was an addict, she was still struggling with her sobriety. Take tonight she was completely out of it. Right now she was talking to Fez, the only other person I really trusted Rue to be around would be Fez. Which may seem weird as he was a drug dealer but after last summer Fez told me he wasn't going to give her shit and I believe him. Fez was like Rues big brother, he cared about her.

I relaxed into the closing my eyes but it was disturbed by a big clash, I quickly turned round to face Rue who was stood standing in front of a smashed statue.
"What the fuck" I saw Daniel making his way over to Rue. Fuck, I got up and made my way over to the pair.
"I'm sorry dude" she got out looking at the ground then back up.
"Do you know how much that cost" he stepped closer to her. "Your gonna have to pay for that"
"Like shit I am" Rue laughed.
"I'm not joking" Daniel stepped forward, this was going to escalate quickly.
"I'll pay for it" I stepped forward getting between the two.
"You don't have to pay for shit" Rue said from behind me.
"Rue please just stay out of this" I turned to face her before looking back at Daniel. "You have my number just message me and we'll sort it out" Daniel didn't say anything he just nodded. I grabbed Rues hand and started to drag her out the party.
"Where are we going?" She questioned as we exited the house and out into the fresh air.
"We're going back to mine. You can't go home like this your mom will flip"

I held Rues hand all the way back to my house. I didn't have to worry about my parents as they were away, they were never home. Whether that be due to work or different just because they didn't want to come back. I didn't blame them.
We finally reached my house. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my keys before unlocking the door and pulling Rue inside. Without me telling her Rue went straight to my room. I let out a sigh as I took my jacket off as well as my shoes. I walked over to the kitchen grabbing a glass of water before heading to my room.
I pushed my door open, Rue was already lying on my bed staring up at my ceiling. I closed my bedroom before walking over to the bedside table and placing the glass of water down.
"There's a glass of water here for you" I said standing staring at the girl.
"Come lie with me" she held a hand out to me. I walked over and lay next to her. The two of us lay looking up at the ceiling. The only sound was the sound of passing cars outside my window. It was late so there wasn't many going passed.
"I'm sorry about you having to pay for that statue" I turned to see Rue staring at me.
"It's okay" I smiled looking at the girl.
"I'm not sorry for knocking it over" I couldn't help but laughing. I placed my hand over my face. I could feel Rues gaze on me, again I turned to face her, she was just staring at me.
"What?" I asked feeling slightly insecure about everything.
"I fucking love you" I couldn't help but have my heart skip. But I knew she most likely didn't mean it, she was high and had alcohol running through her system.
"Tell me this when your sober" I replied confusing Rue. I looked away sitting up.
"Why don't you believe me?" She asked as I stood up. I walked away and towards my closet grabbing a t shirt and shorts.
"Because your high and drunk" I turned to face her holding the clothes in my hand. Rue stood up from the bed and made her way over to me.
"That's why you should believe me" she was now stood in front of me. I looked down. "Y/n" Rue placed her hand in my cheek forcing me to look up at her. " I mean it" Rue rested her forehead against mine. "I promise"
