Hey kiddos! I'm currently sick and can't talk so that's fun, but that doesn't mean I can't write. I'm already over the worst of it, just a head cold thankfully. 'It's going around' as we say at my school, just that time of year. So I'm going to upload two chapters every other week cause how my schedule is working out cause I go to a tech school one week is normal highschool academics the next is our area of study, mine being Culinary Arts. Therefore I have more time to get a chapter or two out because Culinary aka my shop, doesn't give out any shop week homework, some of my academic classes do, but that's easy. We literally just cook or bake for the dining room, or serve lunch to customers in our dining room/small restaurant, or serve lunch to the kids in the cafeteria. Basically unpaid child labor, but they get away with it cause it's a learning experience. Anyways I'm super excited for this chapter. I honestly didn't know where to begin, but now I kinda have an idea, idk. I wanted to make sure other characters got some attention without it seeming too forced. Everyone has their favorite and this is a various x reader. Tell me if there were any grammar mistakes I haven't had time to edit. Onto the story!

'It's also been better.'
'Shut up liar.'
'I can see you're still mad at me for not telling you the truth.'
'Oh that ain't the half of it- shit there's Shikamaru.'

The boy had been strolling with his hands in his pockets in his usual fashion and he approached her without a care, but she could see a hint of regret in his eyes.
"Oh great it's you. What a drag."
"A joy as always Shikamaru."
The boy rolled his eyes as he stopped in his tracks. As if he was waiting for her to say something, but she didn't and he instead started speaking.
"I don't understand you. You show up out of no where from who knows where, and then you end up being some sort of powerhouse. You're already to tiresome to talk to, this is such a drag."

Y/n scoffed in disbelief and struggled to find the right response as the words sloppily spilled out of her lips. "Hey, not exactly my choice to just come here, well... It's complicated. I- did a lot of traveling growing up, I just ended up here. I'm just me, I guess... But yeah you don't need my life story."
"Yeah. No kidding, geez, why did I even ask? Girls always over explain things."

Y/n scrunched her face in annoyance.
"Uh-huh. And guys are always too impulsive or apathetic in your case. Often too hotheaded or confident. But hey, girls are the flawed ones."
"Fine. Fine. Geez, you have a point, okay."
He huffed rolling his eyes in annoyance.
Y/n stifled a giggle and cleared her throat. "So where are you going?"
"Wouldn't you like to know."
"Well that's kinda why I asked."
"Right, right, whatever. Shouldn't you know? Little miss psychic."
Y/n placed her hands on her hips and leaned to one side, raising an eyebrow, 'ugh, people always think that.'
"Oh, where's the fun in always knowing everything?"
"Wel-"
She placed a finger up and continued, "To answer your question, no, I don't like to pry in people's personal lives unless it's important. Don't worry any of your little secrets are safe."
Shikamaru just rolled his eyes, "Well if you must know I'm going to look at the clouds and get a nap in."
Y/n bit the inside of her cheek, 'Well duh. Guess I should have expected that.'
"You sure do that a lot."
"What?"
"Roll your eyes and be dismissive. Oh well, everyone has their interesting qualities."
"I could say the same for you."
"Well duh! I don't know if you've noticed but..." Y/n leaned forward lowering her voice to a whisper. "I'm kinda weird."
"Okay... Bye."
"Oh um, yeah. Bye, see ya."

Shikamaru side eyed her and smirked as he passed before continuing down the path and Y/n proceeded to internally yell at herself.
'Damn it Y/n! Why are you such a fuck up?'
'Well you haven't talked to people for a while since most of your teammates are training and everyone else avoids you, except for Gaara but he's kinda stalking you...'
'I didn't even ask you... But I guess I'm kinda attention starved. What can I say I'm weird, I'm a weirdo-'
'If you make one more TV reference to something that you hallucinated during your 'childhood', than I'm going to take over and put you back to 'sleep'.'
'Well you're no fun.'
