I sat on a little hill as I watched the sun set. It was so beautiful. My watch beeped, signaling I needed to get home soon. I need to be home in twenty minutes... It's not like I haven't stayed up before... just a few more minutes before I head back...

I laid back as I watched the orange sky turn dark with stars speckling the horizon. I guess I should head home...

I sighed and got up. I stepped towards my bike and climbed on. I kicked the stand and began pedalling home. Why is everyone so scared of staying out past curfew? There hasn't been an attack here in years... It's as if the monsters have found new ways to feed...

I was about a block away from the duplex when I hit a rock and lost control of my bike, "Shit!" I whisper yelled as my tire swerved into my neighbor's bush.

"Goddamnit, fuck," I stood up and off the bike. Luckily, I wasn't hurt too bad, my knee hurt; not enough to make me concerned. I pulled the bike out and began walking home, when I heard footsteps behind me, "Fuck," I whispered under my breath.

I started to pick up my pace, but the steps only got faster. I eventually ended up running, I finally made it to my drive way when I felt a hand on my arm. It forced me to turn around, I kept my gaze on the ground.

"Hey cute stuff, you had quite a fall there. Why don't you come with me and I'll patch you up?" I can smell the nasty smell vampirism on him! Typical no good vampires...

"No thanks," I pulled my arm away and ran inside.

"Hey, wait-" I closed the door before he could continue. I took a deep breath, I guess my bike is chilling inside tonight...

I kicked open the kick stand, letting the bike sit in the entry way of my one bedroom, one bathroom, two story duplex apartment.

I ran upstairs into my bedroom, changed into my pajamas, and laid on my bed. I pulled up my pant leg to get a good look at my knee. Well shit, I'm bleeding! No wonder he was after me...

I patched myself up in the bathroom with my handy dandy Spider-Man band aids and went to bed.

The next day was pretty average, it was Friday so I had two days of doing absolutely nothing once my work day ended. I work at a restaurant.

During the days, we are open to humans and during the nights, the monsters take over. I hated working at a place that serves nasty creatures like themselves, even if I wasn't the one serving them. But I was getting paid so I kept my mouth shut. I finished serving my last family before walking out and riding my bike back home. I changed into something more casual and rode back to the hill.

"Woah..." I sighed. The sky looked so beautiful at this time. I kicked out the kick stand and took a seat on the soft green grass.

"Hi," I jumped and turned to see a man with jet black hair. He wore a leather jacket and tee with paint splattered jeans.

"Um, hi..." Where do I know that voice from?

He took a few steps closer.

"May I sit?" I nodded as he popped a squat next to me, "It's beautiful up here."

"I know, I come up here almost every night." I said. I cautiously glanced him up and down. Vampire? Or human? I just smell way too much cologne...

"I'm Gerard."

"Y/n. Do I know you?" I asked, that voice...

"I don't think so, but I've seen you ride your bike around my neighborhood." My bike! Yesterday! Oh fuck...

I jumped up.

"You're the guy! You..." I took a step back, "... vampire... I should... I should go..." I began to panic. I let a vampire sit next to me! How could I do that!? What is wrong with me!?

"Wait, please don't go. I'm not gonna hurt you, I promise." I shook my head.

"Yeah, that's what they all say before all hell breaks loose. I'm outta here." I jumped on my bike and made my way out of there, A vampire!? I spoke to a vampire... What have I done?

"I'm sorry..." His voice trailed as I rode off. That night, I couldn't sleep. The past events just played in my mind, over and over again. There's no way I'm getting sleep tonight...

I got up and sat by the window, looking at nothing in particular. Then, I spotted a familiar messy mop of black hair.

"Gerard..." I whispered to myself as I watched him stand on the empty sidewalk. He was looking up at the sky, deep in thought. I wonder what he's thinking about...

As similar thoughts spun around my mind I slowly began to fall asleep.
